Richard Childress Racing recently secured a long-term sponsorship deal with Mack Trucks, naming the company the official Long Haul Truck partner for the team. Based in North Carolina, Mack Trucks has been manufacturing trucks since 1905, marking over a century of industry experience.

Richard Childress Racing (RCR) has over 50 years of racing history, boasting more than 200 wins and 16 championships, including six Cup Series titles with Dale Earnhardt. They are the first team to win championships in the Cup, Xfinity, and Truck Series and have captured the Daytona 500 three times (1998, 2007, 2018). This year, their lineup features two-time Cup Series champion Kyle Busch, and former Truck Series champion Austin Dillon.

Recently, it was reported that RCR has signed a new long-term sponsorship deal with Mack Trucks, who will provide their Anthem variant to power RCR’s NASCAR entries throughout the demanding season. The news was announced via Mack Trucks on X (formerly Twitter).

"Breaking news, Mack Trucks is now the “Official Long-Haul Truck of , @RCRracing” one of NASCAR’s most iconic teams. Our Mack Anthem trucks, known for their unmatched reliability, will be transporting RCR’s race cars driven by @austindillon3, @KyleBusch, @jesselovejr1, and @_AustinHill throughout the demanding NASCAR season. We’re thrilled to continue our legacy of quality and performance with RCR," they wrote.

Following the announcement made by the Trucking giants, RCR's president, Torrey Galida, shed light on the newly found partnership. He said,

“Richard Childress Racing is looking forward to the future with Mack Trucks, which will help ensure our success during the racing season by providing us with an integral transportation solution,” said Torrey Galida, Richard Childress Racing president. “Our partnership was made possible by our full confidence in Mack Trucks, whose values of excellence and innovation matches ours.”

In addition to providing logistical support, Mack Trucks will organize events tailored to RCR’s fanbase. The partnership may even see Mack Trucks join RCR drivers in victory lane, further strengthening the connection between the team and its supporters.

Richard Childress Racing's Kyle Busch mentions taking major financial hit after failing to make NASCAR playoffs

Kyle Busch pilots the #8 Chevy for RCR, competing full-time in the Cup Series. Busch is the most successful driver in the current Cup Series lineup. However, this time around, the two-time champ could not make it to the 2024 playoffs.

This year marked the first time in over a decade that Busch has failed to qualify for the NASCAR Playoffs. Although his season was underwhelming, Busch performed incredibly well in the last stages of the regular season, finishing in P2 on two occasions. However, after not securing a seat in the playoffs, the Richard Childress racing driver shed light on the financial ramifications. He said (via Adam Stern on X),

"I’ve lost a substantial amount of money, let’s say, in the last few weeks (because) of not making the playoffs, not getting wins and things like that," Busch explained. "That’s a big hit. But again, it is what it is."
