Hendrick Motorsports recently unveiled a 'special' tribute to their OEM Chevrolet on completing 40 years in the NASCAR racing series. Chevy as a manufacturer has been their oldest ally since the famed Cup Series team's inception in 1984.

In a social media post on X, the HMS handle shared a video of miniature boxes painted with iconic liveries of Chevy cars driven by former and current Hendrick drivers. The post highlighted wins from Geoff Bodine and Jeff Gordon to Jimmie Johnson and Chase Elliott.

The video concluded with HMS owner Rick Hendrick and Vice Chairman Gordon drawing the curtain from the ensemble of boxes presented in the shape of the Chevrolet logo. The post on X stated:

"In honor of our 40th Anniversary, we presented Team Chevy, the partner who has been with us since the very beginning, with a very special gift."

Over the last 40 years, Hendrick Motorsports has had groundbreaking success in the stock-car racing series, clinching 14 NASCAR Cup Series championships and racking up more than 300 victories. The Charlotte, North Carolina-based organization is currently the winningest NASCAR organization in the sport's storied history.

"Loyalty to me means more than anything": Rick Hendrick opened up on how he derived business values from his father

In a December 16, 2024 interview, Rick Hendrick sat down with Kelley Earnhardt and shared a loyalty lesson he learned from his father. In addition to his famed Cup Series team, the Warrenton native is also the founder of Hendrick Automotive Group, which has more than 100 dealerships.

On an episode of Dirty Mo Media's segment, Business of Motorsports, he 75-year-old business moghul said:

"When I was about 15 years old, I wanted a Chevelle and I saw it at a dealership in Raleigh, I asked him [Joseph Hendrick, Jr.] to help me buy it." [50:55]

Hendrick continued:

"He[Hendrick's father] said, 'Well, let me tell you something, I'm not going to buy the car there. Mr. Watkins, the dealership here in South Hill, we've been on the farmer plan all of my life, and I buy a truck, I buy a car, and that end of the year, if I can't make the payment, he'll roll it over to the next year"
"He said, 'I'm not going to do business with anybody else but him.' So loyalty to me means more than anything," Hendrick added.
