One of Chase Elliott's primary partners in the NASCAR Cup Series will have a new look on the racetrack when the 2020 champion gets behind the wheel for his 10th full-time season. Hendrick Motorsports recently announced the new paint job for Elliott's UniFirst Corporation sponsorship, a company with nearly a $3.7 billion market cap per Forbes.
UniFirst became a primary sponsor of the driver of the #9 HMS Chevrolet in 2020. Normally, the paint job has been predominantly white with green as a secondary color. In 2025, the car will now be mainly green with a touch of gray and yellow. HMS revealed the photos of the car's new look via X (formerly Twitter).
UniFirst will be on the hood of Elliott's car for five races next season, starting with the March 23 race at the Homestead-Miami Speedway. The car will also be featured in races at Darlington, Michigan, Richmond, and the Charlotte ROVAL.
David Katz, UniFirst Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, said the new look to the UniFirst car takes their racing presence another step forward, adding (via TobyChristie.com):
“This bold design aligns perfectly with our brand evolution and captures our energy and momentum. Collaborating with Hendrick Motorsports has been an exciting opportunity to create something that not only represents UniFirst but also resonates with NASCAR fans.”
As HMS dropped Elliott's new look for next season, racing insider Bob Pockrass took to X to point out a minor detail change to the Chevrolet. The FOX Sports reporter stated that Elliott's, along with other Chevrolet paint scheme releases, show that the rear bumper no longer reads "Camaro." While the branding has changed, Pockrass said the car itself won't, writing:
"As with other Chevrolet team 2025 paint schemes that have been released, this indicates Chevrolets will just say "Chevrolet" on the rear bumper instead of "Camaro." ... That is the expected branding for next year (the body itself won't change for 2025)."
Chase Elliott finished seventh in the final 2024 standings
This past season was a bounceback year for Chase Elliott as he recorded one win and qualified for the playoffs after failing to do either last year. Elliott wheeled his #9 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet to a seventh-place finish in the final standings.
Elliott secured a win at the Texas Motor Speedway in April, which snapped a 42-race winless streak dating back to October of 2022. He qualified for the playoffs for the eighth time in his career. Elliott made it to the Round of 8 but couldn't secure a spot in the Championship 4 and was subsequently eliminated.
Elliott has 19 Cup Series victories, all coming with HMS. He won the championship in 2020, which also marked his fifth season of full-time Cup Series racing.
