Hendrick Motorsports driver William Byron recently embarked on an off-season overseas journey and, in his latest social media update, the Rick Hendrick-owned team's star was spotted in Japan. After having a tiresome 2024 season where Byron barely missed out on the championship, it was time for him to set his foot outside, fuel himself, and come back stronger for the 2025 season.

After the season-ending Championship 4 race at Phoenix Raceway in November this year, the HMS man is enjoying his time off from racing. The #24 driver finished the season in the second runners-up position after he failed to match the two Team Penske drivers, Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney. He finished the season ahead of Tyler Reddick of 23XI Racing, the regular season champion.

Since the Hendrick Motorsports driver is not taking part in dirt races like his teammate, Kyle Larson, he is all free to take a world tour. Byron uploaded a series of stories on his Instagram account recently revealing the same.

As per the first story, he embarked on a journey in a flight, away from the United States. He uploaded the photo with a "Travel day," caption.

Byron uploaded two more stories on his Instagram. The #24 driver uploaded a photo of his flight destination, which cut across the United States and pointed toward East Asia.

Ultimately, the HMS star lifted the lid and revealed that he was in the Japanese capital, Tokyo.

Byron racked up 5034 points this season, where he claimed three wins, a pole position, 13 Top 5s, 21 Top 10s, and led 357 laps. He had three stage wins to his name and faced four DNFS. His average start position was 9.556 and his average finish position was 12.994.

Hendrick Motorsports unveil William Byron's 2025 Cup Series car

Hendrick Motorsports recently revealed the paint scheme of William Byron's #24 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. Interestingly, HMS did not change the paint scheme of the car from 2024 and kept it identical.

HMS' choice to retain the car's design came after their decision to not change Kyle Larson and his sponsor, Hendrickcars.com, which will remain as its primary sponsor. Similarly, the white, red, and blue Liberty paint scheme Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 will be William Byron's car.

NASCAR is all set to kick off the new season on February 3, 2025, with the NASCAR clash at Bowman Gray at the Bowman Gray Stadium in North Carolina.
