Ricky Stenhouse Jr., driver of the #47 Chevrolet for JTG Daugherty Racing (now Hyak Motorsports), boasts 14 wins across NASCAR's top three series. Despite missing the playoffs this past season, the former Xfinity Series champion secured a victory in the YellaWood 500 playoff race at Talladega Superspeedway.

In a surprising development, long-time sponsor Kroger parted ways with Ricky Stenhouse Jr.'s #47 team at Hyak Motorsports. The retail giant has joined Brad Keselowski's RFK Racing, signaling a significant partnership shift for the 2025 NASCAR season.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. shed light on recent team rebrand

Ricky Stenhouse Jr.'s team, JTG Daugherty Racing, was co-owned by Tad and Jodi Geschickter alongside NBA legend Brad Daugherty. Recently, the team underwent significant change as Gordon Smith, owner of Hyak Maritime, took over as primary sponsor. The team's name transitioned to Hyak Motorsports, reflecting its new direction.

Reflecting on the big change to the North Carolina-based outfit, Stenhouse Jr. said (vis SiriusXM):

“Obviously, we have a big shift in the organization. You can look at it a couple different ways and I think the way we’re looking at it is everything’s a little more consolidated, we got all the same great employees, the same crew guys and processes will stay the same.”
“I feel confident Mike and the guys will keep working hard to try to make our cars faster when it comes to the on-racetrack portion of it,” he added.

The Cup Series will race at Bowman Gray Stadium for the first time since 1971 when former Cup Series champion Bobby Allison emerged victorious. Can Stenhouse Jr. find his mojo? Find out on February 2nd, at 8:00 PM ET for the highly anticipated Clash.
