Ross Chastain recently shared his experience working with Shane van Gisbergen, his teammate at Trackhouse Racing. The Melon Man, in his recent interview, revealed how he benefitted from the time he spent with the latter and the impact it had on his street racing development.

Chastain became van Gisbergen's teammate late last year when Trackhouse Racing brought the latter to ramp up their squad. Gisbergen, known for his street racing expertise, joined the team with Zane Smith.

While Ross Chastain remained the face of Trackhouse Racing, van Gisbergen, the Chicago Street Race winner, joined in the capacity to race throughout the NASCAR national series, besides racing for the Cup Series on a part-time basis.

"We've spent a lot of time together, a lot of time running," said Chastain, as per Peter Stratt on YouTube. "The guy's huge in the running so if I want time with him I just go I go, I go run, and we meet, and him and I and Nick Sanchez, we just go run and talk, and then usually we start running fast enough that I run out of air to talk with so I got to use it to breathe." He added:

"But yeah it is so great, he's just a great guy and yeah he's little tidbits here and there and then there's just so much data we can look at so I can, I can learn just as much hearing from him as I can looking through the stuff." (1:16-1:30)

Van Gisbergen currently competes full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and drives the #97 Chevrolet Camaro of Kaulig Racing, which is also in partnership with Trackhouse Racing. He drives the #91 Camaro ZL1 for Trackhouse Racing in the Cup Series.

A few months after Ross Chastain, Shane van Gisbergen, and Zane Smith began to work together, the #1 driver of the Trackhouse Racing shared his experience with his new teammates.

Chastain, in January this year, revealed that his new teammates had a great impact on uplifting his performance. Van Gisbergen, an expert in street races and a three-time Australian Supercars tour champion, helped him to improve his racing skills.

Speaking about the same, he said, as per On3.com:

"It’s going to be good. Zane’s already right in the gym with us and in the trenches. They’re [Zane Smith and Shane van Gisbergen] both pushing me to step it up a bit.”

After an eventful USA Today 301 at New Hampshire last weekend, NASCAR is in Nashville for the 19th race of this season. Nashville Superspeedway is all set to gear up for the Ally 400, as 38 drivers are ready to compete over 300 laps on the 1.33-mile track. Ross Chastain, the defending winner of the event, will start from 20th position.
