NASCAR driver Corey LaJoie had some fun ranking his fellow drivers in an Olympic sport, placing 2023 championship driver Ryan Blaney as a podium finisher in gymnastics. In an interview featured on the racing organization's eponymous X/Twitter page, LaJoie and other NASCAR drivers were asked to grade their peers in different sports.
When asked who would rank first, second and third in gymnastics, LaJoie picked Blaney for the first spot. He added:
"RYB [Ryan Blaney] is a damn spider monkey, bro. So he would be like Ninja warrior, Simone Biles, whatever you want to call."

Ryan Blaney talks about social media
In an interview with The Athletic published on July 24, Ryan Blaney opened up on different topics, including his upcoming wedding, views on NASCAR and other personal matters. When asked about how much NASCAR media coverage he consumes, he said:
"A lot. I try to stay up to date on things. I don’t pay a ton of attention to (X), but that’s where I go to get my news. Obviously, I get a lot of NASCAR news from there because that’s who I follow. But just the news in general, I’ll go on (X), like, 'What’s going on in the world?' And you can never believe half the stuff you see on there anyway.
"But there’s rarely a time when someone in the media will ask me 'Did you see this? What do you think about this?' and I don’t know about it. It’s pretty rare. So I feel like I’m pretty up to date and I have a good team that kind of keeps me up on big stories in case I miss it. It kind of consumes your life just because you’re in it."
Ryan Blaney currently drives the No. 12 Ford Mustang for Team Penske. He is ranked 5th in the Cup Series standings with 2 wins and 676 points. He has had 7 top-5 and 11 top-10 finishes so far in the 2024 season.
