Ryan Blaney, in a recent interview, commented on his radio outburst at Kyle Larson during this Sunday's Brickyard 400. The 30-year-old admitted that he’s not proud of what he said and wishes he hadn’t reacted the way he did.

During the eventful race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Blaney was upset over the radio about Larson moving up during a red flag after a wreck. He referred to Larson as a “f*cking golden boy.” The comment quickly grabbed attention and set off discussion among fans and media.

Ryan Blaney, in a video posted on YouTube, has now said that his angry radio comments are his way of letting off steam.

He explained, "I try not to hold grudges. These outbursts are like a blow-off valve for me. I get it out, and then I'm over it in 10 seconds."
He added, “I don’t think it ever hurts my performance. It’s just a way for me to reset and move on quickly.”

According to Blaney, these moments of anger are a part of who he is and help him focus on the race rather than dwelling on the issue.

Despite the regret, Blaney believes that these radio outbursts don’t hinder his performance.

“I wish I didn’t have it, but it’s just part of me. I get it out, reset, and move on,” he said.

Blaney also noted that the reactions and discussions following such incidents are part of the sport’s entertainment value.

Ryan Blaney's misfortune at Brickyard 400

The Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway was a fight between Ryan Blaney, Kyle Larson, and Brad Keselowski. Blaney had the chance to win the Brickyard 400, but had bad luck in the final restarts. Near the end, Keselowski ran out of fuel, giving Blaney the opportunity. However, this let Kyle Larson take the lead and win the race instead.

Blaney said after the race, “I don’t know. I’m just upset. That’s a heartbreaker. We did everything right today. I was in prime position to win and it just didn’t work out for us. Just got unlucky.”

He also suggested changing the rules so the third-place driver doesn't get an advantage when the leader has problems.

“With this, you’re promoting the third-place guy before the second-place if the leader has problems. That’s not right,” he said.

Blaney, driving the No. 12 for Team Penske ended up finishing third and is now fifth in the NASCAR Cup Series standings with 7 top 5 and 11 top 10 finishes.
