Former NASCAR Cup Series champion Ryan Blaney married his long-time girlfriend, Gianna Tulio, on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Hotel Jerome in Aspen, Colo., exactly one year after Blaney proposed to Tulio. After the wedding, Mrs. Blaney revealed why the couple decided to keep the intimate.
Gianna Tulio was recently featured in an exclusive interview with People.com and mentioned she invited close family and friends to the wedding. The couple opted for the Winter Enchantment: A Candlelit Aspen Affair theme for their wedding, pulling the cozy winter aesthetic as the winter holiday is the "favorite season" of the couple.
Around 150 to 200 closest family and friends of Ryan Blaney and his wife, Tulio, attended the wedding designed by Karli Spangler Events. NASCAR drivers Bubba Wallace, Austin Cindric, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and his wife Amy were also present at the wedding.
Tulio explained the reason behind her intimate wedding, highlighting that being a professional stock car racing driver, Blaney spent most of his time on tracks, and this was the perfect chance to have all the loved ones together in one place and spend some quality time together.
"Spending quality time with all of our loved ones is super important to us, so we wanted to keep the wedding as intimate as possible. With Ryan being a professional NASCAR driver, we are on the road every weekend almost every month out of the year, so we value every second we can get with our friends and family," stated Gianna Tulio. After getting married, the Team Penske driver is set to enjoy his off-season in his style.
“I drink a little bit more”: Ryan Blaney's ideal off-season plans ahead of the 2025 Cup Series
A week ahead of his wedding, Ryan Blaney was featured in an interview with ESPN and opened up about how he will be enjoying his off-season break before the hectic racing schedule starting in February 2025.
"I'm lazier in the winter, for sure," Blaney said. "I drink a little bit more. I enjoy the offseason because it's a long year. I like to relax and unwind," said Ryan Blaney.
"Your mindset is so different in the competing months during the year of constantly on kill mode, and as a competitor, you're trying to figure out ways to better yourself or outsmart the competition. The fire in you is lit all the time, and in the offseason, I try to turn that off. I have no reason to be competitive in the winter. It's nice to get that breath of relaxation," he added.
Last year, before his off-season, he clinched his first and only Cup Series championship title and proposed to his girlfriend, entering into a new chapter of his life. The couple dated for three years before Blaney proposed to Tulio in December 2023.
This year Blaney fell one spot short of bagging his second title, ending the season as the runner-up. His teammate Joey Logano won the title for the third time.
