NASCAR Hall of Famer Tony Stewart is regarded as one of the top drivers in Cup Series history. During a recent interview with Joe Castello, the former NASCAR team owner praised his wife Leah Pruett for her determination as a mother and a Top Fuel driver.

Although he is retired as a full-time NASCAR racer, Stewart debuted in the NHRA Top Fuel Dragster racing series in 2024 as a replacement for his wife Pruett in the Tony Stewart Racing team. A two-time NHRA champion herself (2018 Factory Stock Showdown Series and 2010 Hot Rod Heritage Series Funny Car Champion), the Californian racer recently decided to step away from racing to plan for a family.

The two welcomed their first child, a son Dominic James on November 17 this year. Stewart believes Pruett will soon be getting back to her racing career. In an interview with Joe Castello, Stewart said:

"I mean, she is literally just over two weeks from having Dominic and I am pretty confident in about two to three weeks, she would be ready to get back into top fuel car. She absolutely looks amazing. Looking at her, you wouldn't even tell that she just delivered a little boy to us," (0:09 onward).
"It's just amazing how strong and tough my wife is and what she does. But she does want to be a mom next year and yeah, I'm kind of fighting it a little bit. But, I guess the bonus to it is I get to drive a Top Fuel car again next year. So, it's either way I get to win," Steward said (0:28 onward).

A video of the interaction was shared on X by the TSR team. Here's a look at the post:

"I just have to visually see him hold the baby" - NASCAR legend Kevin Harvick on wanting to see Tony Stewart perform 'Dad' duties

NASCAR Cup Series champion Kevin Harvick joked about wanting to see his close friend Tony Stewart perform a diaper change on the latter's newborn son Dominic James. Harvick expressed his feelings on the recent Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour podcast.

"I just have to visually see him hold the baby and I just want to be there long enough for it to crap its pants and he has to change the diaper." (28:46 onward)
"If we can somehow convince him to go in the car and we can take the baby somewhere by ourselves and it happened in the car that’d be way better," Harvick added. (29:03 onward)

Tony Stewart pulled off a feat ahead of his son's birth, similar to the two 'Double Duty' he did while in NASCAR. The former Cup Series champion went to witness his son's birth in between the Qualifying and the Top Fuel elimination sessions during the NHRA season finale at Pomona Dragstrip.
