On a recent episode of Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s podcast "The Dale Jr. Download," light was shed on his wife Amy's "weirdest fear", which was different from what the ex-NASCAR driver thought it to be. While Dale Jr. had thought Amy might be wary of his driving, he learned it was something else that made her uneasy.

Dale Jr. once shared with The Athletic, how he's usually laid-back about Amy's driving, preferring instead to sit back and catch up on emails or social media or even play DJ when he's not behind the wheel.

Recently, when the topic of each other's weirdest fears came up on his podcast, Dale Jr. responded, adding it could also be called her pet peeve,

"My driving." [at 23:45]

According to Dale Jr.:

"She doesn't like my driving. [...] I make turns too fast." [23:54]

Amy, on the other hand, shared that while she sometimes does feels anxious when Dale Jr. is driving the car, her greatest fear was actually something else:

"My biggest fear I think is drowning. Death by drowning." [24:38]

Discussing Dale Jr.'s fears, Amy revealed an unusual one: his fear of jewelry, also known as kosmemophobia. The phobia has been significant enough for Dale Jr. to discuss it openly, including on a 2018 episode of his podcast.

The effect of his phobia was felt in their wedding preparations too, and led to a unique solution for his wedding ring. In collaboration with Qalo, a company that specializes in silicone rings, Dale and Amy designed a practical alternative. Earnhardt Jr. explained in one of his 2018 podcast episodes [via New York Post]:

“My wedding ring is actually a wooden ring. I don’t want to wear that too much because it could get scratched or broken, so I wear Qalo rings… They’re very comfortable."

Amy Earnhardt recently shared a quirky habit of Dale Earnhardt Jr.

During a lighthearted moment where the couple shared what each other's "bad habits" were, while Dale Earnhardt Jr. guessed that Amy's answer would be his video games, Amy called out Dale Jr. for a rather unusual bathroom routine. She revealed that Dale Jr. has a habit of blowing his nose into a bath towel and then hanging it back up. Amy explained the situation, saying:

"No, it's blowing your nose in the bath towel. He dries himself off and then honks his nose as loud as a goose into the towel. Here’s the thing about said towel. He will hang it back up. So if you don't know if it's your towel, or his towel because they all look the same."

Dale Jr. attributed this habit to his father, Dale Sr., though he wasn’t completely sure if the bath towel was part of his dad’s routine. He reminisced about hearing his dad from across the house:

"I do not know that Dad did it into a bath towel. I could just hear Dad on the other side of the house making noise and it honked. When I did that one day, I was like, Yeah, I am never not doing this."

Following this revelation, fans on X (formerly twitter) had a mixed reaction, with some finding it hilarious, while others found it disagreeable, and one fan called it "unacceptable."
