“She put hair removing cream in my shampoo bottle”: Denny Hamlin once shared ‘crazy ex-girlfriend story’

Denny Hamlin once opened up about how his ex-girlfriend made life hard for him. Speaking about this back in 2019, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver labeled it as his "worst date ever" and claimed that she put her hair removal cream in his shampoo bottle.

Hamlin is one of the most renowned drivers in NASCAR. Of all the people he has dated, the #11 star once described an ex-girlfriend as the "worst" of them all.

He described his ex-girlfriend as "crazy" and said she was ready to go to every extent to make his life miserable.

"I had an ex-girlfriend get really really mad at me and she put hair removal [cream] in my shampoo bottle. She was crazy," Hamlin told Motorsport on NBC. "She puts veg fish underneath my mattress, so when they thawed, it totally rigged out my apartment. It was awful."

"She opened up milk cartons and put them behind my headboard. So the smell of my apartment was awful. Heavy stuff. Maybe that should have been my worst date ever. Only my close friends know that story but they all know it."

Hamlin is currently engaged to Jordan Fish, whom he met in 2007. They met each other during a Charlotte Bobcats match. Hamlin sat courtside, while Fish was a cheerleader with the Bobcats.

Hamlin and Fish got into a relationship in 2009 and have two children together. Taylor James Hamlin was born in 2013 and Molly Gold Hamlin was born four years later, in 2017. The couple broke up for a short period in 2021, but eventually got back together a year later. At the beginning of 2024, Hamlin and Fish announced their engagement.

During the interview with Motorsport on NBC, Denny Hamlin also unraveled how he came to know that there was hair removal cream inside his shampoo bottle. Interestingly, the #11 only dated his ex-girlfriend for nearly a month, and it was enough for him to call it a day.

"I dated her for probably three or four weeks," Hamlin revealed. "I went racing, came back, and I noticed just something didn't smell right, like it wasn't crazy. But when I woke up, it was gag city, because all the fish melted and thawed."

"She would go to the store, got you know frozen fish, put them under mattress, ruin my mattress. I never lived in that apartment ever again, that was my last time there. Oh, and by the way, [a friend] called me and said don't use your shampoo because she put her hair removal in your shampoo bottle."

Denny Hamlin is currently competing in the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs and is part of the Round of 8. The Joe Gibbs Racing star will take part in the upcoming race at Martinsville to vie for a Championship 4 place at Phoenix on November 10.
