Speedway Motorsports announced that they made generous donations of over $4 million in the 2024 season through their philanthropic arm, the Speedway Children’s Charities (SCC). Over $170,000 was raised through the efforts of North Wilkesboro Speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway as they supported people during Hurricane Helene.

Speedway Motorsports owns and operates racetracks for various sanctioned racing events in the US. Their portfolio expands from NASCAR to the NHRA, World of Outlaws, and multiple other racing series. They own some of the most iconic racetracks, such as the Charlotte Motor Speedway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Sonoma, etc.

Their philanthropic efforts are executed by the Speedway Children’s Charities, an NGO working as a fundraiser. They donate to organizations that work for the welfare of children.

Speedway Children’s Charities's recent newsletter claimed that they donated over $4 million during the 2024 season across various motorsports.

"One of our core principles at Speedway Motorsports is to give back to the communities where we operate, and Speedway Children’s Charities was established to do just that – bring hope and help to children in need," said SCC Chairman Marcus Smith. "The remarkable support we have received from fans, volunteers and advocates will undoubtedly make a meaningful impact on the lives of thousands of children."

Speedway Motorsports recognized as one of the best places to work in sports by SBJ

A survey from Sports Business Journal recently recognized the Best Places to Work in Sports in 2024. Their precious accolade was also awarded to Speedway Motorsports.

Bruton Smith, who incorporated Speedway in 1994, had been running efforts to establish an organization like this from the early 1950s. He worked as a race promoter at the time and eventually built the Charlotte Motor Speedway in '59. The organization has been instrumental in providing drivers and teams with the best racing experiences and fans with just as much action.

The Sports Business Journal honored Speedway Motorsports with the Silver Medal as the "Best Places to Work in Sports" in the Professional Services category.

Marcus Smith, the President and CEO, celebrated this achievement and shared his thoughts upon receiving the accolade.

"Speedway Motorsports prides itself on creating remarkable events for fans, giving back to the communities where we operate, continuously improving and taking care of our teammates."
"As a leader in the entertainment space, this recognition is a testament to the culture that can be created when organizations put people first. We strive to be a place where our guests want to visit and make lifelong memories, and where our teammates thrive as well. We are honored to be selected among the Best Places to Work in Sports."

Speedway continues to provide a positive working experience for its employees. The company faced fierce competition with over 200 others who were nominated for the award.
