At Go Bowling, the drivers of Spire Motorsports have created history. Just a few hours ago in the action-packed race at Watkins Glen International, all the drivers of Spire Motorsports made two new records, landing multiple places in the top 10 and top 5.
Spire Motorsports drivers #77 Carson Hocevar and #71 Zane Smith secured a place in the top 5. Hocevar secured third place with 34 points, and Smith was in fifth, securing 32 points. Another record Spire Motorsports made was all the drivers securing a place in the top-10 standings.
After Carson Hocevar and Zane Smith's ranks in the top 5 drivers, #7 Corey Lajoie was in eighth place, securing 29 points and creating a new record in Spire Motorsports history. However, the qualifying lap was not good for the drivers, but they paced up as the race began and secured significant places.
Corey Lajoie began the race in 18th place, followed by Zane Smith in 19th place. Carson Hocevar, the top-performing driver of Spire Motorsports at the Glens, kicked off the race in 29th place. By the end of Stage 2, all the drivers began to pace up, and in the final stage, they significantly moved up in the standings.
Spire Motorsports and drivers celebrated their victories on social media
Driver number #71 Zane Smith shared an X (formerly known as Twitter), highlighting that he had the season's best fun while racing at the Glen.
"Coming through a cup field twice says a lot about the speed we had today," wrote Smith.
Further, he appreciated his team's efforts and hard work to make this his second top-5 finish this year. Earlier, driver number #71 was the runner-up at the Nashville Superspeedway held on 30th June. He was just 0.068 seconds behind the winner, Joey Logano.
Carson Hocevar also celebrated his season-best finish on his X account (formerly known as Twitter), sharing a hilarious search bar image.
"help i accidentally ran the boot yesterday and finished 3rd today."
Along with the search bar, the image included Hocevar's image of finishing third at the Watkins Glen International track. The Spire racing team retweeted the image on their X account.
This is the first top-five finish by driver number #77, and he even led a lap at Glen Hocevar's best finish, placing eighth at the Word Wide Technology Raceway and Richmond Raceway.
This race was Corey Lajoie's second-best finish this season. Earlier, he secured fourth place at the Daytona International Speedway held in February. Lajoie has three ranks in the top 10 and only one in the top 5 this season so far. The best he got before this race finished ninth at the Darlington Raceway.
