Greg Biffle has touched upon the latest situation in North Carolina, an aread that has been devastated by Hurricane Helene. In a video posted on Instagram, the 54-year-old shed light on the current relief situation in the US state and thanked billionaire Elon Musk for his donation.
Biffle, the former NASCAR driver, has been a leading man in the hurricane's relief efforts after the catastrophe devastated several properties and claimed numerous lives. Biffle, together with Hendrick Motorsports and Joe Gibbs Racing, spearheaded rescue missions and regularly shared critical updates of the relief plan.
Besides NASCAR entities, Elon Musk has become the latest renowned face to be involved in the rescue efforts. Musk's Starlink and SpaceX, and NASA's Polaris came to the forefront to help Biffle and Co. in their efforts.
Greg's wife, Cristina Biffle, shared about this through a video on the latter's official Instagram account.
"Thank you so much to Polaris, SpaceX, and Starlink for providing four pallets of these systems to North Carolina's Tennessee, Virginia, and Georgia. So thankful that we've been able to collect these," she said.
"Thank you to the truck drivers and everyone who has been able to get all these systems preprogrammed to us in less than 12 hours! They'll be en route to Hickory Airport shortly and will be deployed throughout the areas," the caption read.
As per the latest data, Hurricane Helene has killed over 130 people around the five southern US states, and the toll is likely to rise substantially in the next few days.
Elon Musk extends his support to the Hurricane Helene rescue mission
Earlier on Tuesday, Greg Biffle expressed his gratitude to Elon Musk for extending his support to his rescue mission in western North Carolina. Here's what he wrote on X:
"Special thanks to Polaris, SpaceX, and Starlink. They're sending 500 units to my shop currently. Will be there early in the morning around 5 a.m. We're going to be taking those (to the) airport and ready to deploy them as soon as sun up into helicopters to all these areas in western North Carolina."
The storm severely affected several other towns in Western North Carolina, and areas such as the Mountain Island Lake area, Chimney Rock, Asheville, Boone, and Banner Elk are currently facing an acute power shortage.
