Ahead of the playoff race at Kansas Speedway, Kyle Larson revisited his stance in the aftermath of his social media post. He offered a point of view on the criticism he faced in his dominant win at Bristol last weekend.

Speaking to Bob Pockrass, Larson clarified by talking about a NASCAR driver's perspective who has competed for over 10 years. He said:

"I think... Trying to give a perspective from, you know, a driver's point of view who's been around now for over 10 years and seeing different packages and different results on the racetrack. Not every race is gonna be super exciting. So yeah, I think that was more where I was coming from. Stop being so negative."

The Bass Pro Shops Night race at Bristol Motor Speedway saw Hendrick Motorsports driver Larson clinch his fifth win of the season by leading 465 of the 500 laps. As a result, several people in the NASCAR community heavily criticized this playoff race at the short track as a lackluster event, unlike the spring Bristol race, which witnessed a lot of tire wear.

Meanwhile, former Cup Series champion Larson urged fans to manage their expectations following Bristol's Round of 16 race.

"I was just annoyed" - Kyle Larson opens up about his response to his social media post

On account of less tire wear at Bristol last weekend, unlike the previous race held at the same track in March, Kyle Larson's win at the short track faced backlash after his dominant performance.

In response to the overwhelmingly negative response from the fans, the 32-year-old believed people should not blame NASCAR or the tire manufacturer, Goodyear.

Speaking with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Larson said:

"I don't really ever get on social media anymore, but no, I was just annoyed, there's so many people in the industry that, they see a car lead 462 laps, and they automatically think it's a terrible race."
"So like, everybody wants to blame Goodyear and everybody's got the answers and whatnot, and it's just nobody has the answers. Goodyear doesn't have the answer. NASCAR doesn't have the answer about their car and why it doesn't run good in traffic. You know, us, the drivers and the teams and engineers, we don't have the answers either," he added.

With five wins under his belt, the Hendrick's star has found himself on the top of the playoff standings. Before the Round of 12 race at Kansas Speedway, Larson was placed 39 points above the playoff cutline.
