After taking the checkered flag at Nashville, Joey Logano ensured a lot of things. It was his first win of the season, which booked his place in the playoffs. It was also a win that ended his 49-race winless streak, but it was a win that didn't alter the 'complexion' of the season for Logano in a big-picture sense.

During an interview with Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports, the Team Penske driver opened up on the effects of his Nashville win. Pockrass asked whether winning at the superspeedway changed the complexion and outlook of his season. Logano replied:

"I don't know that it changed the complexion of the season a whole bunch. We are in, which is great. The goal is not just to make the playoffs. The goal is to win the championship all the time. So that's one step of the stepping stones there."

The #22 driver said that his team is making progress and that speed is coming to them. Logano mentioned that as the year goes on, the #22 team tends to find the speed, with the playoffs approaching.

"We've just got to stay around long enough to take advantage of speed like the #12 (of Ryan Blaney) did last year," he added.

Joey Logano wants more playoffs points in the remainder of the regular season

As Pockrass asked Joey Logano what he wants to achieve in the remaining four weeks of the regular season, the two-time Cup champion pointed to more playoff points.

Logano said that his goal is to get into the top-10 in terms of points. He said that it would be an achievable goal with "some pretty spectacular weekends" lined up for the #22 team. Having said that, he mentioned the much easier route to that goal.

"The easier way would be just go win another race because regular-season points is 10th is one, ninth is two. I probably have a better chance of just winning one (for five playoff points).
"There's just more to gain there. So from a strategic side of how you call races and what you do, you put all that into the equation of what you've got to do in the next four races," Joey Logano added.

In the upcoming four races of the regular season, Richmond, Michigan, Daytona, and Darlington, Joey Logano has had a decent record.

He finished second at Richmond earlier this season, while at Michigan, he finished 14th last season and fourth during his championship winning year. He finished fifth in the Coke Zero Sugar 400 last year, while at the Southern 500, he won the crown jewel race in 2022.
