Dale Earnhardt Jr. shared his hilarious reaction to the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson boxing match. Earnhardt Jr. said that the high tide at the beach was more exciting than watching the two competitors battle it out in the ring.
Earnhardt Jr. is a 50-year-old former NASCAR Cup Series driver who owns the three-time Xfinity Series team champion, JR Motorsports. During an episode of the Dale Jr. Downlaod podcast, the driver shared that he rooted for Mike Tyson to win the match considering he grew up watching him.
However, Dale Jr. wasn’t a fan of the eight-round boxing match. He asked his co-hosts whether they watched the fight before commenting:
“The high tide at the beach was more exciting.”
The 26-time Cup race winner continued sharing his thoughts on the fight.
“To even say, ‘Did you watch the Tyson fight?’ You did not give a **** who the other guy was. It’s still the Tyson fight. I don’t know what I expected when they got to fighting, I’m like, ‘Who the hell was I to imagine that Mike Tyson could actually knock this guy out?’ This is not happening.”
He added:
“I live in a fantasy world where I thought, ‘Damn, Mike Tyson, I hope he can knock this fool out.’ It coulda been my best friend in there with Mike Tyson. Whoever Mike Tyson gets in the ring with, I want a knockout and I want a Tyson-style ending.”
Unfortunately for Dale Earnhardt Jr., Mike Tyson lost to Jake Paul by unanimous decision in an officially sanctioned fight at the AT&T Stadium in Texas.
After the boxing match, Jake Paul improved his professional record to 11-1, while Mike Tyson walked away with a 50-7 record.
