Dale Earnhardt Jr. attended the NASCAR Awards night in Charlotte on Friday, November 22. Earlier this month, Earnhardt's Xfinity Series driver, Justin Allgaier won this season's championship in Phoenix.

During an interaction with the media on the red carpet, Dale Earnhardt Jr. reflected on his eventful year and said that if one would listen to everything about the world, they'd come away finding the world to be 'a bit of a struggle.'

However, he mentioned that when he went out and traveled this year, he enjoyed 'every minute of it'. Moreover, Junior also credited the people he met, which contributed to making his year 'a fun year.'

It's worth mentioning that earlier this year, Dale Jr. took off time for a vacation to England and Scotland and has already set his sights on the next vacation, one which would also include his family. Speaking about taking some inspiration from Kyle Larson, Earnhardt said:

"The calendar year has always been a challenge but over the last couple of years, we've found ways to do it. And now just trying to get creative and get the kids involved. Just trying to find things that we can do with them and having the confidence and courage to take them. I want to go to Australia really bad. I went there in '06. I want to really badly take Amy and the girls. I just want to buckle down, get them in a plane and see how they handle it because it's going to be like 13 hours. The Larsons do it all the time so that's kind of the next step I guess," Dale Earnhardt Jr. added. [3:40]

Dale Earnhardt Jr. opens up on the biggest takeaways from his European travels in 2024

During an interview ahead of the NASCAR Awards, Dale Earnhardt Jr. was asked about sharing the 'biggest eye opener' and takeaway from his travels to Europe earlier this year.

Junior said that the one thing that he loved was coming out of his comfort zone. He mentioned that while people preferred remaining in their 'bubble', his traveling experience made him realize how colorful the world was.

"God Almighty man! It's insane to see how big this world is and how small and insignificant our own existence is in comparison to the universe. You don't really get a sense of all that until you do go to the other side of the world and see millions of people just shuffling around that had no idea that you existed and we get in our heads sometimes when we're doing our own thing and living our own lives," he said [1:25].

The former Hendrick Motorsports driver concluded that his travels were great considering he enjoyed all the different cultures he encountered.
