Corey LaJoie opened up about his NASCAR future, saying he was placing his trust in destiny and divine will. On his latest "Stacking Pennies" podcast, LaJoie reflected on his upcoming exit from Spire Motorsports after the 2024 season, offering insights into his tenure and his outlook on the future.

Discussing his imminent departure, LaJoie acknowledged a diversity of emotions and noted his familiarity with the uncertainty, having often been in one-year contracts. He expressed gratitude towards Spire Motorsports' Jeff Dickerson and T.J. Puchyr for their support and the opportunities they provided him.

"My entire NASCAR career has not went how I thought that it was going to go. So why would I expect anything different, right? [...] So, we can get into it but it's, there's that proverb, 16:9, it's been pinned to my Twitter or my X profile for almost 10 years now - The Lord determines well, the man can plan his path but the Lord determines his steps and that really is. I don't know what the next step is." [at 4:23]

Furthermore, LaJoie expressed an acceptance of his current circumstances in NASCAR. He said he found himself at peace with his decision to depart from Spire Motorsports, even as he acknowledged the "unique situation" and the variables involved. He also shared his enthusiasm for future opportunities while maintaining a strong desire to leave a winning mark with his current team.

He highlighted his determination to secure a win for Spire Motorsports, saying:

"I’m pretty motivated to still be the first one that puts a win banner on the wall at Spire [...] and a trophy in the trophy case on the Cup side there and continue to finish this thing strong the last 14 races." [at 5:16]

Corey Lajoie regrets not being able to live up to his team's expectations

On his podcast, while discussing his upcoming departure from the team, Corey LaJoie candidly admitted to falling short of expectations. He shared a mix of pride in his contributions and disappointment over not being able to elevate the team's performance as hoped. LaJoie remarked via NASCAR:

"I do hate that we weren’t able to see it through; we weren’t able to kind of adjust the #7 team and kind of turn the right knobs to get performance where we needed it. Also, I made too many mistakes behind the wheel this year. There were several that took us out of contention for some good results."

Currently ranked 28th in the driver's standings with just four races left in the regular season, it remains to be seen whether LaJoie will receive offers from other teams for a Cup ride next year or if he will consider moving to the Xfinity, Truck, or ARCA series.
