Chase Briscoe welcomed twins with wife Marissa via an Instagram post on Tuesday. Marissa said that she and her newborn babies were healthy.
Briscoe is a 29-year-old American professional racing driver piloting the No. 14 Ford Mustang at the outgoing Stewart-Haas Racing team. The driver married Marissa in November 2019, and now shares three children with her, including three-year-old son Brooks Briscoe.
In an Instagram post, Marissa welcomed their twins by writing:
“They are here! Mama and babies are healthy 🤍 Thank you Jesus!”
The announcement was showered with heartfelt congratulations from the NASCAR community. Some of them include Taylor Nemechek, wife of John Hunter Nemechek, Marissa Gilliland, wife of Todd Gilliland, and Jenna Petty, fiancee of Harrison Burton. Fellow NASCAR driver Carson Hocevar also offered his congratulations to the couple.
While the names of the twins weren’t disclosed, Chase and Marissa once took to X and asked for suggestions for a boy and a girl. The couple got witty responses, including from NASCAR veteran reporter Bob Pockrass. He suggested the names, “Toni and Stewart”, referencing Briscoe’s team boss, Tony Stewart.
Chase Briscoe will return to action on the race track at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course on Sunday. It will be the final race of the Round of 12.
The Indiana native will try to keep his playoff hopes alive as he sits at the bottom of the NASCAR Cup Series Playoff standings. He is -32 below the cutline and is joined by Joey Logano, Daniel Suarez, and Austin Cindric as the drivers sit outside the bubble.
Chase Briscoe flew on the Joe Gibbs Racing plane while on baby watch
Chase Briscoe may not be officially a Joe Gibbs Racing driver yet but he was already getting perks from future team boss Joe Gibbs. A few weeks ago, the driver hopped on the JGR plane to check on his wife as they were on baby watch.
However, the flight was deemed “awkward” following the conclusion of the Round of 16 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Briscoe advanced to the Round of 12 while two JGR drivers, Martin Truex Jr. and Ty Gibbs, were eliminated from playoff contention.
NASCAR insider Jeff Gluck told the story via X, saying:
“With Chase Briscoe on baby watch (twins soon!), future team owner Joe Gibbs has been offering him rides on the JGR plane. He flew home with JGR last week from Bristol after knocking some of their cars out, which he said was a little awkward (but SHR didn't have a plane go up).”
Chase Briscoe will take over the No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Camry of Martin Truex Jr., who will retire at the end of this season. He will join Denny Hamlin, Christopher Bell, and Ty Gibbs in the Huntersville-based outfit starting in 2025.
Meanwhile, the Stewart-Haas Racing team will be discontinued and rebranded to Haas Factory Team. The reworked team will cut its Cup Series entries from four to one car, with Cole Custer set to drive the No. 41 Ford Mustang.
