Dale Earnhardt Jr. recently opened up on the one food item he dislikes with passion. In a conversation on his podcast with his former spotter TJ Majors, Earnhardt and the podcast crew had a free flowing conversation about tailgating.
The host enquired about the same with Majors while also throwing in his opinions and preferences in between. At one point, Earnhardt Jr. claimed he doesn't like potato salad. As the conversation progressed, he shared his dislike for 'damn vegetable trays', emphasizing his point that he doesn't need to 'wash my palette with some f**king celery.'
This led to Majors asking Earnhardt that if he went home and had to pick one item from a vegetable tray, what would he grab first? The NASCAR Hall of Famer gave his response while also revealing the food item he simply cannot stand.
"Honestly, carrots, even though I don't give a s**t about them. But you know what's worthless in this whole world? Carrot cake. Who makes a f**king cake with carrots? Stop it. They need to quit doing that. Sorry carrots. You're good for our eyes. I heard carrots are good for your eyes," Dale Earnhardt Jr. said. [1:30:25]
When Dale Earnhardt Jr. revealed what his go-to sandwich consisted of in 2018
During an episode of his podcast in 2018, a fan asked Dale Earnhardt Jr. about the last time he had his favorite banana and mayonnaise sandwich.
The former HMS driver revealed that he hadn't had his classic banana and mayo sandwich in a while because he had changed his mayonnaise sandwich to a 'different style.' He described (via For the Win):
"I did eat those as a kid. So when (longtime NASCAR sponsor) Hellmann’s is like, ‘Hey man, that’s a strange sandwich, so we want to do this program around strange sandwiches and would you do that?’ And I’m like, ‘Yes.’ We made the sandwich, and it blows up on the internet, and oh boy! Some people are like, ‘Yeah, I ate those as a kid, but the majority of the people hated it and thought we were crazy people and needed to be locked up. I don’t want to go around shouting it from the roof that I ate that sandwich when I was a kid."
Earnhardt Jr. mentioned that he'd been trying to push into a new direction, different from the sandwich he ate during his childhood. He then went on to reveal that his preferred sandwich consisted of ham, Doritos, mayo, and pickles.
Focusing on why he prefers Doritos for the crunch instead of Fritos, Dale Jr. claimed he doesn't like to crunch or break them before he eats them.
He pressed on the importance of putting mayo on one slice of bread instead of both, putting the meat in, and drying the 'long sliced pickles' before finishing up the sandwich.
