Richard Childress' grandson Ty Dillon is ready to race for Kaulig Racing in the 2025 Cup Series season. He will drive the #10 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Matt Kaulig's team. Dillon is optimistic about having his 'best opportunity' at Kaulig Racing.

Dillon raced with Kaulig Racing in 2024 under a five-race deal. As per the deal, he ran for Matt Kaulig's team at Richmond, Texas, New Hampshire, Richmond again, and Kansas. Interestingly, he also managed to race in two more Cup Series races with two more teams.

He paired with the newly rebranded Team Amerivet and then his grandfather's Richard Childress Racing. He raced for Amerivet in Charlotte at the Coca-Cola 600 and for RCR at the Brickyard 400 in Indianapolis. However, in 2025, he will be racing full-time.

Dillon will replace Daniel Hemric at Kaulig and start the season alongside AJ Allmendinger. Speaking about his upcoming season, and sharing his optimism, the 32-year-old said in an interview with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90:

“I wanted to be with Kaulig [Racing], they have such a passion for winning and doing things right in the sport, and for me, without a doubt, to work with this team again is the best opportunity I will have had in my Cup [Series] career."
"I’ve had some great experiences at other places, but this is the first time I am stepping into a Cup team that has actually won races prior to me being there, have competed for championships, so this is the highest quality of program that I have been a part of," he added.

Besides the Cup Series, Ty Dillon also raced in the Xfinity and Truck Series in 2024. He took part in two Xfinity Series races at Texas and Chicago. Whereas, he had 18 entries in the Truck Series with Rackley-Willie Allen Racing.

Kaulig Racing owner hailed Ty Dillon for his 2024 duty

Kaulig Racing owner, Matt Kaulig was full of praise orf Ty Dillon after the latter matched his expectations despite running only a few races in the 2024 Cup Series season.

Here's what he said (via Kaulig Racing):

“Ty has done a really great job for us this year in our No. 16 car, competing in a limited schedule,” Matt Kaulig said. “He has been consistent each time he gets in the car and has really helped our program grow this season. We think he will be instrumental in continuing our Cup program in alliance with Richard Childress Racing.”

Even though he lived up to his expectations, he failed to grab a point in 2024. His best performance for Kaulig Racing was his 16th place finish after starting in 36th place in Texas. It was also his best performance in 2024 (after counting Amerivet and RCR entries).
