Kyle Larson's crew chief Cliff Daniels was impressed by Logano's final dash toward the checkered flag. Joey Logano and his crew chief Paul Wolfe used a decisive fuel strategy to win Sunday's playoff race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Logano started the race 10th. He finished eighth in Stage 1, and by the end of Stage 2, Logano moved to fifth. With a caution coming out on Lap 194, due to Ty Gibbs spinning out, the race turned out to be a fuel mileage battle.

While other drivers like Christopher Bell, who also won the pole, made a pit stop midway through the final stint of the 267-lap race, Logano stayed out on the field. He knew he had enough fuel to last him till the end.

Logano passed Daniel Suarez with six laps to go and closed in on Bell, who led a race-high 155 laps. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver fell short of laps to maintain the lead, and Logano crossed the finishing line first. It was Logano's third win of the season.

When asked about Logano's finish, Daniels told Frontstretch,

"I think a lot of the field knew they were going to be close right there. I never doubt Joey Logano and Paul Wolfe when it comes to fuel mileage races; they're so good at it and obviously, they made it work today."

Logano is now locked in the Championship race. With his entry in the coveted race, the two-time Cup Series champion became the only driver to have six Championship 4 appearances; most by any driver in the history of the NASCAR Cup Series.

Like his crew chief, Kyle Larson too, was impressed by Joey Logano's win at LVMS. As reported by journalist Kelley Crandall, the Hendrick Motorsports driver said,

"In my opinion, they're the best at taking an average car, maximizing their day, and turning it into wins like this. Nashville, same thing. You look at his career he's had a lot of wins like that. He's just really good. Paul Wolfe, as well. Hats off to them. That's super impressive to gamble like that and lock yourself in."

Kye Larson was one of the top seeds ahead of the South Point 400 at the 1.5-mile, tri-oval intermediate speedway. The 32-year-old qualified 5th and was just 0.05 seconds behind Bell. However, he underwent a miscalculated pit stop on Lap 125, which pushed him backward to a P30 finish in Stage 1.

Nevertheless, Larson managed to work his way out of the mess. The Elk Grove native pulled off an 11th-place finish and took home 27 playoff points. As of now, the Chevy star sits third in the playoff picture with a 35-point cushion on the elimination line.

Both Logano and Larson will start their engines at Homestead-Miami Speedway next week, i.e. October 27th. The race will begin from 2:30 PM ET onwards with live coverage on NBC.
