Kaden Honeycutt achieved the biggest career victory at age 21, winning the 2024 Snowball Derby race at the Five Flag Speedways held on December 8, 2024. Honeycutt joined the prestigious group of Snowball Derby winners in his early 20s among just a handful of names on the list.
The Willow Park native is a 21-year-old professional race car driver and has won the 2021 CARS Late Model Stock Car Tour Rookie of the Year award, followed by the 2022 Hart to Heart 100 race win, and became the 2024 CARS Pro Late Model Tour champion.
In the 57th Annual Snowball Derby, Kaden Honeycutt began the race out of pole in second place and was behind the two-time race winner Ty Majeski. During the 300-lap race, both drivers exchanged leads, but Majeski led most laps, but Honeycutt kept him in sight.
The 21-year-old won the race, and Stephen Nasse came in second place, followed by two-time race winner Ty Majeski. Honeycutt won the grand prize of $50,000, and reflecting upon his victory, he said:
“It’s definitely unbelievable. I grew up walking [at Five Flags]. This is literally where I took my first steps. There’s a lot of history here for my family here. I knew I could do it, and I knew [my team] could do it." (via NASCAR)
He added:
“This was a matter of putting the pieces together. We worked our asses off, and it paid off.”
Until the Daytona 500 Kaden Honeycutt plans to cherish his milestone by entering the list of a handful of names prevailing in the Snowball Derby, including Ty Majeski, Darrell Waltrip, Kyle Busch, Chase Elliott, Erik Jones, Rich Bickle, and Jeff Purvis upsetting the NASCAR Truck Series champion, Ty Majeski.
Kaden Honeycutt expressed his feelings about running full-time in the 2025 Truck Series
Kaden Honeycutt ran part-time in the Truck Series for three years under Niece Motorsports. He ran his first race at the Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 200 at Martinsville Speedway in 2022. He has secured ten top-ten finishes and ended the 2024 season in a career-best 19th place.
In October, the young driver expressed his feelings about racing full-time in the Truck Series. He mentioned he was grateful for the opportunity after having a successful part-time gig in the Truck Series.
“I can’t even begin to explain how much this opportunity means to me."
The 2024 Snow Ball Derby winner highlighted he lost hope in stock car racing after his last season. But Niece Motorsports gave him a chance to boost his confidence.
“We’ve had some good runs this year, and I know what our team is capable of. Heading into 2025, I really think we'll have a great shot at competing at a high level on a weekly basis. I can’t say thank you enough to Al, Cody, and everyone at Chevrolet for this. It’s going to be a great year together," Honeycutt added.
The Niece Motorsports driver will run the #45 Chevy for the Mooresville-based outfit in the 2025 season alongside his teammate Matt Mills in the #42 truck.
