A former driver and Cup Series team owner, Justin Marks, recently expressed his thoughts on Trackhouse Racing's participation at the Rolex 24 at Daytona. The Concord, North Carolina-based team will field four drivers in the inaugural race of the IMSA SportsCar Championship.

Two NASCAR drivers, Shane van Gisbergen and Connor Zilisch, will team up with IndyCar star Scott McLaughlin and the famed SportCar driver Ben Keating in the GT Daytona Pro Class entry, driving a No. 91 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R in partnership with TF Sport.

In a post on X, the Trackhouse Racing owner Marks opened up on being a part of the great endurance race at Daytona. He said:

"This one has special meaning. The final few years of my participation in this event, I couldn’t help but want to come back one day as a fan and just appreciate what I think is the greatest race in the world. Luckily thanks to @TeamChevy@OfficialTFSport and this amazing roster of drivers, I get to do just that. @keatingcarguy@smclaughlin93@ConnorZilisch@shanevg97"

The St. Louis, Missouri native Marks also has a history of competing in several motorsports disciplines. Apart from his brief stint in NASCAR stock-car racing, the 43-year-old has competed in the SportsCar racing series.

"A dream since the inception" - Justin Marks opens up on the addition of the SportCar series to the team's portfolio

Trackhouse Racing is a motorsports organization started by Trackhouse Entertainment Group, a joint venture by Justin Marks and famed rapper Pitbull in 2021.

They first entered the NASCAR Cup Series, where they now field three full-time entries viz. Ross Chastain, Daniel Suarez and Shane van Gisbergen, driving Chevy Camaros. Moreover, Trackhouse joined the Moto GP grid for the first time this 2024 season.

As Trackhouse Racing announced the addition of a new racing series in their portfolio, Marks reflected on being a part of the SportsCar series and said (via trackhouseracing):

"Participating in the Rolex 24 has been a dream since the inception of Trackhouse Racing. We wanted to make sure we could enter with a top-notch partner in Chevrolet and TF Sport as well as a driver lineup that could compete for the victory. We feel like this group we have put together can compete for the trophy."

He added:

"We wanted the best partners because we know how difficult this task will be,” said Marks. “We are racing against some of the best sports car teams and drivers in the world."

In the NASCAR world, Chastain and Suarez contributed a win each to the Chevy roster for the 2024 season. With the addition of Supercars champion Gisbergen to the team, Trackhouse Racing would be looking to capitalize on more wins in the upcoming season.
