Ahead of the Homestead-Miami race weekend, Cole Custer recently appeared as a guest on the WWE NXT show. Upon assisting Hank and Tank in the squared ring, the reigning Xfinity Series champion shared his pro wrestling experience.

In collaboration with The CW Network and WWE NXT, the Stewart-Haas Racing driver Custer accompanied Hank Walter and Tank Ledger in a wrestling match against OTM. The #00 Ford driver nudged Bronco Nima from outside the ring with his helmet, resulting in a win for Hank and Tank in the tag team duo match. Moreover, the 26-year-old Xfinity driver celebrated with the duo and danced with Lola Vice after their match.

Speaking with WWE NXT in an exclusive interview, Custer shared his "unreal" experience and hinted at returning for another pro wrestling match soon. He said:

"Man, it’s been awesome. Getting to know Hank and Tank and everything involved here, I mean, those guys are so incredible, how they’re flying around the ring. Learning everything today was just absolutely insane. So it was awesome to have this collaboration and get to see them on the hood this weekend."

The California native continued:

"Yeah, we race in Homestead, Miami, this weekend, and we have NXT on the car, got Trick Williams on the hood, so it’s really cool. Really cool collaboration with CW and NXT, and just really, I’m looking forward to coming back because this has been an unreal experience."

Custer's appearance at the NXT match was a promotional event for his partnership with CW and WWE NXT for the upcoming Round of 8 race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. His #00 Ford will also feature Trick Williams on the hood.

"I know we can do it again": Cole Custer on his visit to the second Round of 8 race in Florida

The 2024 Xfinity series regular season champion Cole Custer has had an impressive season with two wins, 12 top-fives, and 20 top-10s. With two races left before the championship race in Phoenix, the SHR driver is confident with his position in the current playoff picture.

In a recent press release, the 2023 Xfinity champion said (via Speedwaydigest.com):

"The No. 00 team has had a ton of speed in the playoffs, including last weekend where we led laps. I think if we keep managing our races, having good races, and doing what we need to do, then we can make it to the next round on points alone. There's no reason why we can't be in a good position on points to make it to the Championship 4, but a win this weekend at Homestead would just make the nerves a lot easier heading into Martinsville."

He added:

"I was so nervous last year heading into that race because you never know what could happen there. You obviously want to win before then to help ease your mind, but you also want to look at the bigger picture and build a points cushion. We almost won at Homestead last year had it not been for that blown tire, so I know we can do it again."

Currently, the #00 driver is ranked third in the Xfinity playoff picture and is 16 points above the cutline.

Custer will be next seen in action at Homestead-Miami Speedway on October 26 for the second race in the Round of 8. This will be followed by a race at Martinsville on November 2 and the Championship 4 race at Phoenix Raceway on November 9.
