Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kelley Earnhardt Miller's top driver Justin Allgaier will remain with JR Motorsports for another two seasons. During the media session at the Homestead-Miami Speedway, it was announced that the veteran Xfinity Series driver will field the #7 Chevy for the team until at least 2026.
Allgaier's Xfinity Series resume boasts back-to-back full-time contracts since his rookie year with Penske Championship Racing in 2009. But since the 2016 season, the Illinois native has been behind the wheel for the brother-sister's JR Motorsports.
Though he's yet to bag an Xfinity title, it's worth mentioning that Allgaier never finished his season outside the top-5 while at JRM except once, in the 2018 season. The previous year saw him marginally lose the title fight to Cole Custer after wrapping up the Phoenix season finale race in third place.
Nonetheless, Allgaier and his global agriculture leader sponsor BRANDT, have now become "synonymous" with JRM, both on and off the track. Amid the contract extension, the team's CEO Kelley Earnhardt heaped praise on the duo, saying (via JRM's official release).
“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Justin, the Brandt family, and everyone at BRANDT Professional Agriculture. BRANDT and Justin have become synonymous with JRM both on and off the track and Rick (Brandt)’s passion for this program remains unwavering. We are honored to continue to carry their brand. That No. 7 team has consistently been one of the strongest teams in the garage year after year, and I know that that is going to continue moving forward," Kelley said.
BRANDT will be the primary sponsor for Justin Allgaier's #7 Chevy for 20 races in the 2025 and 2026 NASCAR Xfinity Series seasons.
"It feels great to be returning": Justin Allgaier opens up on his JRM contract extension
Justin Allgaier's nine-year-old relationship with JR Motorsports has strengthened over time, courtesy of his dominant year-on-year performance that made him a lucrative option for Dale Earnahrdt Jr. and Kelley Earnhardt's NASCAR venture.
Since registering his debut race for the team, the 38-year-old has clinched 22 wins, 122 top-5s, and 195 top-10s. Moreover, the #7 Chevy driver's 2024 Xfinity stat of two wins, eight top-5s, and 17 top-10s have placed him atop the Xfinity rankings, with three races- Homestead-Miami, Martinsville, and Phonenix- left to decide his fate.
Ahead of his Homestead-Miami race, Allgaier opened up on his contract extension and said.
“It feels great to be returning to JRM and to continue our partnership with BRANDT Professional Agriculture. BRANDT has played such an integral part in my career and I am extremely proud of everything that we have accomplished thus far together. I’m honored to be able to continue to drive this No. 7 Chevrolet for Dale (Earnhardt Jr.) and Kelley and compete for race wins and championships. Hopefully, we can get this renewal jumpstarted on a strong note and finish off these playoffs in the best way possible,” Justin Allgaier said via JRM's official website.
Despite having the maximum buffer of 32 points, Justin Allgaier is currently placed second in the playoffs, as AJ Allmendinger aced the Las Vegas race and has safeguarded his Championship 4 spot.
