Brad Keselowski took a trip down memory lane recently as he narrated the tales of his childhood. The Cup Series driver dived into nostalgia with Stapleton42 and discussed how he grew up in the suburbs of Rochester Hills, Michigan, United States.
Keselowski was born on February 12, 1984, to Bob and Kay Keselowski. He was born to a racing family and was the youngest of five siblings. His family is of Polish descent and he was later honored with the Polish-American Hall of Fame Excellence in Sports Award.
The RFK Racing driver entered the racing arena with his father, by working at his race shop. Keselowski swept and mopped the floors and mowed the grass at their house. As he brought Stapleton42 with him back to Rochester Hills, he became nostalgic.
“So, my mom and dad met here, got married, and next thing you know there was me and my brother," Keselowski said. "So I'm the youngest of five and to me, this house means a lot, for a lot of reasons. You know I'm from a different generation than I think a lot of the people in your videos are from, which is fine," Brad Keselowski said.
"So for me, I have a way different racing story. For me one of the most significant things about this house is, this is where I would sim race, and sim racing was how I started racing." (2:11-2:47)
Brad Keselowski started racing in NASCAR in 2004 when he entered the Craftsman Truck Series with the 2004 Kroger 250 at Martinsville. His Xfinity Series debut came two years later in Fontana, at the 2006 Ameriquest 300.
The #6 RFK driver, who has a net worth of $45 million (as per Celebrity Net Worth), made his Cup Series debut in 2008 in Texas. Four years later, he went on to claim the NASCAR Cup Series championship. So far, Keselowski has raced in the Cup Series 549 times, claiming 36 victories, 18 pole positions, and 261 top 10s.
Brad Keselowski's team made major announcement, roped in Ryan Preece for third charter
Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing, the NASCAR Cup Series team that Brad Keselowski co-owns, recently signed Ryan Preece from Stewart-Haas Racing. The move has come after SHR decided to part ways with NASCAR at the end of this season.
Speculation began to surface that RFK Racing would also take one of SHR's charters. However, another report claimed that RFK could borrow one of Rick Ware Racing's charters next year for Preece.
Preece will drive the #60 Ford Mustang Dark Horse, alongside #6 Keselowski and #17 Chris Buescher. Notably, the 34-year-old will also bring Kroger with him as his primary sponsor for the 2025 Cup Series season.
