Tony Stewart shared a picture with the 'First Lady of Motorsports' Linda Vaughn in a recent Instagram post alongside a four-word reaction. Vaughn has been related to motorsports for most of her professional life, though she never stepped into a car for competition.

In the picture, the former Stewart-Haas Racing co-owner shared that Vaughn is one of his "favorites."

"One of my favorites."

Linda Vaughn was one of the most notable personalities in American motorsports during the peak of her career. She was introduced to cars early in her life through her partner at the time who was involved in drag racing. Although she had the chance to become a dentist, Vaughn once entered a trophy girl contest and won at a young age. Since then, she has been synonymous with motorsports across the country.

While Vaughn was an icon in NASCAR during victory lane celebrations, she notably appeared in NHRA and IndyCar-sanctioned events and was a huge attraction among fans. Her career took a little dip during the COVID-19 period and also had to sell some cars from her pristine collection. She has been getting back on track since.

Vaughn has been given many titles throughout her career, including "Miss Queen of Speed at Atlanta International Raceway" and "Miss Hurst Golden Shifter," however, none of them match the harmonious "First Lady of Motorsports."

Tony Stewart and Linda Vaughn have been long-time friends.

Tony Stewart this was the "right time" to depart from NASCAR

Stewart-Haas Racing came down with a shocking announcement earlier this season, ceasing their operations at the end of the 2024 season. The team had been part of the grid for two decades and although there were reports of this closure previously, it was kept a secret with the crew and their drivers. The lack of recent accomplishments met with sponsors stepping away from the team which has been analyzed as one of the reasons for the team to make this decision.

Reflecting on his departure on Kevin Harvick's Happy Hour podcast, Tony Stewart revealed that he felt this was the right time to make the decision. He said:

"This is the right time; this was never a part of a master plan, but this is, as this year has gone on, this has become very clear that this is the right time for me to get out of the sport."

Gene Haas, who was the co-owner of the team, kept one of the charters and will run it with Cole Custer in the 2025 season under the Haas Factory Team tag.

Tony Stewart remains a very influential figure in the world of motorsports. His accomplishments both as a driver and a team owner took him to the peak.
