The Stewart-Haas Racing drivers poked fun at each other in a ‘most likely to’ challenge ahead of the YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. The segment featured three of the team’s four Cup drivers, namely Josh Berry, Noah Gragson, and Ryan Preece.

Stewart-Haas Racing is a Kannapolis-based team owned by Gene Haas and NASCAR Hall of Famer Tony Stewart. This year marks the team’s last season as SHR will be rebranded to Haas Factory Team in 2025 and field one car in the premier series piloted by Cole Custer.

The first question on the “Most Likely To Talladega Night Edition” segment was to name the driver who would play a stereo and watch TV at the same time.

No. 4 SHR driver Josh Berry wrote Noah Gragson and gave a straightforward explanation, saying:

“Noah, just look at the guy.”

No. 41 SHR driver Ryan Preece agreed with Berry.

As for No. 10 SHR driver Noah Gragson, he chose Chase Briscoe to drown the noise from the kids. Briscoe is one of the team’s four Cup drivers but wasn't part of the interview.

The next question was to name the driver who put a partner on the windshield, to which all the participants picked Briscoe.

When asked who’s most likely to drink espresso while racing, Gragson initially picked Xfinity Series driver Riley Herbst. However, after Berry and Preece wrote Greg Zipadelli, a.k.a. Zippy, the team’s competition director and Tony Stewart’s former crew chief, Gragson went with him as well.

“Because he always has a freaking coffee in his hand,” Preece said.

The next question was to name the driver who would stab themselves in the leg. Berry went first and wrote Custer for being “accident prone.” Gragson and Preece agreed.

When asked about the driver who would drive with a cougar in the car, Preece wondered what kind of cougar the question referred to. Berry chimed in and chose Gragson before collectively agreeing to pick team owner Tony Stewart.

“Yeah, Tony. Tony. Tony’s an animal guy,” the No. 10 Ford driver said.

The SHR drivers were then asked to name who would most likely get jacked up on Mountain Dew. Preece told his teammates not to disagree with him and picked Gragson. Berry also chose Gragson, who himself went with Briscoe.

The final question was to name the driver who would live like Ricky Bobby, a NASCAR character played by Will Ferrell on 2006’s Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. All three drivers agreed to choose Briscoe.

“It’s Chase. New Mercedes. So, he’s got the cars. He’s got the nice crib. He’s got the kids running around the house,” Gragson said.

While SHR didn’t explain why Chase Briscoe couldn’t join the show, the Indiana native is the only driver in his team to make the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs. He made it past the Round of 16 after securing good points at Watkins Glen and Bristol.

All SHR Cup drivers’ futures are looking bright for 2025

Stewart-Haas Racing may be exiting at the end of the season but the team’s four Cup drivers will most likely remain in the premier series in 2025.

Chase Briscoe will head to Joe Gibbs Racing to replace the retiring Martin Truex Jr. in the No. 19 Toyota Camry. Meanwhile, Josh Berry will take over Harrison Burton’s seat at Wood Brothers Racing. Burton will drive for AM Racing in the Xfinity Series next year.

Noah Gragson will drive for Front Row Motorsports next year, teaming up with Todd Gilliland and a new third driver.

As for Ryan Preece, he has yet to secure a seat for next year. However, Preece is reportedly the favorite to drive the potential third car at RFK Racing.
