Tony Stewart shared his and his wife Leah Pruett's take regarding their newborn son Dominic's NASCAR future. The three-time Cup Series champion said that they won't push their son into racing albeit leaving the floor open for Dominic if he wished to follow in his parents' footsteps.
Stewart and Pruett are renowned motorsports figures in their respective disciplines. While Stewart earned his fame through NASCAR, IndyCar championship, Dirt racing and sprint car racing, his wife's fanbase was created through the NHRA. The couple welcomed Dominic, on Nov. 17, 2024.
Brexton Busch, son of Kyle Busch, Keelan Harvick, son of Kevin Harvick, Owen Larson, son of Kyle Larson are examples of children continuing their family's racing legacy. With that, the notion of a racer's child following the same career path as their family's becomes a point of discussion.
During an exclusive interview with EPARTRADE, co-host Francisque Savinien jokingly said that 50 years later, Dominic would be in Tony's place, explaining his father going racing. Stewart responded that it wouldn't surprise him, adding that he and Leah would never push Dominic into racing.
"It would not surprise me. It would be very hard to believe and I promise you Leah and I have come to an agreement, we're not pushing Dominic into racing by any means. It has to be his decision, just like it was mine," Stewart said (29:14).
The father then emphasized supporting Dominic "100%" if he sees a career in motorsports.
"If that's what he chooses, we will be behind him 100%, and I would say, most likely down the road you'll have that same conversation we're having right now."
Tony Stewart's NHRA Rookie of The Year can be attributed to Dominic, as Leah's maternity break vacated a seat for her husband to showcase his prowess.

In December 2023, Leah announced a break from NHRA while Tony Stewart took responsibility for the on-track things. Moreover, after a successful rookie campaign in the NHRA Top Fuel category, the 53-year-old has confirmed his return for a sophomore campaign.
During the exclusive EPARTRADE interview, the NASCAR legend expressed confidence in Leah's improving health. He said that Pruett could be fit to race in a couple of weeks. However, shortly after her potential return, she could face another long break, as she desires a second baby.
Stewart spoke about "fighting" the second baby conversation, revealing the "bonus" he could receive.
"It's just amazing how strong and tough my wife is and what she does, but she does want to be a mom next year. I''m kind of fighting it a little bit. I guess the bonus to it is I get to drive a Top Fuel car again next year, so either way I get to win," Stewart said
