Three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Tony Stewart has proven from time to time his brilliance in growing not only his reach as a racer but also a great investor. From co-owning a team in the Cup Series to being the owner of race tracks, Stewart has a wide portfolio, which isn't just limited to motorsports.

Stewart started his career as a racer, taking part in the go-kart competitions in 1979, and eventually moved up to NASCAR in the 1990s. He participated in the 1999 Cup Series season as a permanent driver for Joe Gibbs Racing, registering three wins. It was around the same time that he started to grow his investment portfolio.

This was an IRL team he owned, along with Larry Curry, Andy Card, and Rick Ehrgott. Stewart held the ownership for two years between 1999 and 2001.

Gene Haas owned the Haas CNC Racing NASCAR team. In 2008, he gave Stewart a 50% stake in the team and the two have co-owned the Cup Series team since then. Tony won his final Cup Series Championship with this team in 2011. However, the team recently revealed that they will close down at the end of this season and sell off their charters.

Outside of NASCAR, Stewart took part in the USAC Racing with his team. He won the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Championships multiple times. It was also reported in 2021 that the team would take part in the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series.

Other than these, Stewart has also invested in race tracks throughout his racing career. He owns the Eldora Speedway in Ohio after purchasing it in 2004. Further, he co-owns the Paducah International Raceway in Kentucky, along with the Macon Speedway in Illinois.

Notably, Stewart purchased the All-Star Circuit of Champions in 2015. He also formed a stock car racing series in 2020 called the Superstar Racing Experience.

Besides these, Stewart has also spent a decent amount on luxury. He owns a $22.5 million ranch over 400 acres with a villa. It was built in 2011 and is equipped with six bedrooms. This entire property, however, was put on sale last month.

Tony Stewart has been one of the most influential personalities in the history of NASCAR. From owning multiple teams and tracks to making history as a racer himself, his legacy continues to grow.

Despite the closing of SHR at the end of this season, their history will not be forgotten anytime soon.
