Tony Stewart, the three-time NASCAR champion, is married to Leah Pruett, an NHRA Top Fuel drag racer. The couple tied the knot in November 2021 and welcomed their first child, Dominic James, in November 2024.
Pruett is a two-time NHRA world champion who started racing Junior Dragsters at the age of 8. Her love for motorsports came from her father, who owned an automotive repair shop. During the course of her career, she earned 18 victories before stepping back to focus on family.
Tony Stewart and Leah met before the COVID-19 pandemic and bonded during lockdown over their shared passion for racing. The pair started dating in early 2020 and announced their engagement in March 2021. In 2024, Leah stepped away from racing while pregnant, and Tony replaced her on the NHRA circuit.
Dominic was born on November 17, 2024, a day packed with both excitement and challenges for the Stewarts. His arrival coincided with the NHRA Finals in Pomona, California. Tony Stewart, who was busy seeing to his racing commitments, made a quick trip to Phoenix, Arizona, to be present for his son’s birth. After spending the emotional moment with Leah and Dominic, he immediately flew back to Pomona to continue racing.
The news of Dominic's birth was shared publicly through Tony Stewart Racing’s social media channels, accompanied by a heartfelt message about the joys of parenthood. The announcement described their son as a "blessing," with Stewart calling fatherhood a completely new and indescribable experience.
Stewart, 53, revealed that naming Dominic was one of his responsibilities as a first-time father, though Leah had the final say. He described the moment as
“The proudest of my life,”
adding that Dominic is now their
“Ultimate trophy.”
Since Dominic's birth, the Stewarts have received an outpouring of love and support from fans and the racing community.
