Zane Smith, driver of the No. 71 Camaro for Spire Motorsports, recently shipped his own autographed merchandise to one of his young fans. The boy was overjoyed and Smith's wife McCall Smith found the moment "too freaking cute".

Smith is known to give back to his fans from time to time. His recent gift to a young fan reminded the latter's father of the time when he was a kid and had received one such gift from NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Jarrett.

"I can't thank @ZaneSmith enough for making his day!" the father said. "When I was 7, @DaleJarrett sent me a hero card wishing me a happy birthday and I was hooked as a fan for life. Zane, this kid is already a fan of yours but with this you got a new lifer out of him! He will never forget it!"

McCall Smith reshared the post and wrote:

"This!!!!!! 🥰 too freaking cute! Zane has the best heart and truly does whatever he can to give back to his awesome supporters."

Smith won the Truck Series regular season championship and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship title, both in 2022. He is on a part-time schedule for the 2024 driving the No. 91 Chevrolet Silverado for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing.

Smith is currently under an agreement with Trackhouse Racing that lets him pilot the No. 71 Chevy in the Cup Series. However, Smith and Trackhouse Racing will part ways at the end of this year. Michael McDowell of Front Row Motorsports will replace Smith.

Fans cheer for Zane Smith ahead of his "second trip" to Kansas in 2024

The Kanas Speedway is all set to host the Round of 12 opener on September 29. Although not a playoff driver, Zane Smith has the opportunity to deliver his first career win at the Cup level. Actions begin on Sunday (29 September) from 3 PM ET onwards.

Smith qualified 15th for the 267-lap event, known as the Hollywood Casino 400. The 25-year-old Californian posted:

"Starting p15 tomorrow @kansasspeedway."

A fan wished Smith luck and said,

"Second trip to Kansas this year. You will do great tomorrow!"
"Nice! All you need is a great day and put it in front! Go get'em!" said another.

Zane Smith has several strong finishes at Kansas Speedway to his credit. His sole victory at the 1.5 mile racetrack came in 2022 as a Truck Series driver. However, he finished second in this year's spring race, closely losing the win to Corey Heim, driver of the No. 11 Toyota Tundra for TRICON Garage.

Besides that, Zane Smith has three top-5s and three top-10s in nine starts at the tri-oval intermediate speedway in Kansas City. Fans can watch Smith in action on NBC Sports and USA, or listen to radio updates on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. 23XI Racing driver, Tyler Reddick, is the reigning champion at Kansas Speedway.
