While NASCAR drivers start their pre-season work, Ty Dillon and Christian Eckes spent time with fans in an RV show. Kaulig Racing president Chris Rice shared on social media the two drivers taking a slight detour ahead of the 2025 season.
Dillon and Eckes are professional stock car racing drivers bound for Kauling Racing. The former previously drove for Rackley W.A.R., while the latter ran with McAnally-Hilgenmann Racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
In an Instagram post, the Kaulig Racing boss shared a glimpse of the show in Greensboro, North Carolina with his two new drivers and Campers Inn RV, the team's sponsor in NASCAR.
"Almost race season, but we got Ty Dillon and Christian Eckes at the Campers Inn RV show in Greensboro. So if you're out and about, I know it's a little wintery, but come on and check them out," Rice said.
The crew also brought AJ Allmendinger's No. 16 Chevrolet Camaro from the Xfinity Series.
The No. 16 car will be handed to Christian Eckes starting the 2025 Xfinity Series season as Allmendinger returns to the Cup Series.
Eckes concluded the 2024 Truck Series season with four wins, 15 top fives, and 22 top 10s. He also made the Championship 4 battle but Ty Majeski crossed the line at Phoenix Raceway first to win his first title.
Dillon, meanwhile, had a more challenging 2024 season with only two top 10 finishes at Darlington Raceway and Richmond Raceway. He will return with Allmendinger in the premier series driving the No. 10 Chevy.
The 2025 NASCAR season will commence at the Daytona International Speedway next month. Eckes will enter the United Rentals 300 before Dillon returns to the Daytona 500.
Ty Dillon shared his thoughts on joining Kaulig Racing in 2025
In an interview with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Ty Dillon shared his thoughts on his full-time schedule with Kaulig Racing. He believes driving for the team would be the best opportunity in his racing career in the premier series.
“I wanted to be with Kaulig [Racing], they have such a passion for winning and doing things right in the sport, and for me, without a doubt, to work with this team again is the best opportunity I will have had in my Cup [Series] career," Ty Dillon said.
The 32-year-old North Carolina native also commended the team for its previous achievements, saying:
"I’ve had some great experiences at other places, but this is the first time I am stepping into a Cup team that has actually won races prior to me being there, have competed for championships, so this is the highest quality of program that I have been a part of."
Dillon previously ran a part-time schedule for Matt Kaulig's team last year. He drove the No. 16 Chevrolet at Richmond, Texas, New Hampshire, Kansas, and back at Richmond where his older brother, Austin, infamously won the race.
He will replace Daniel Hemric for a full-time schedule in the No. 10 car.
