While Ty Dillon's season with Kaulig Racing hasn't started yet, the driver is already spending time with the team. Dillon, together with his wife Haley, joined the team's Christmas party wearing bizarre outfits referencing 1989's National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation movie.
Dillon is a 32-year-old NASCAR driver bound for Kaulig Racing in the upcoming Cup Series season. He previously drove for Rackley W.A.R. in the Craftsman Truck Series, scoring two top-10 finishes in Darlington and Richmond.
The couple took to Instagram and shared some moments from Kaulig Racing's Christmas party.
The outfits are inspired by Clark Griswold, a fictional character who played the main protagonist of the Vacation series. Griswold wore similar outfits in different scenes in the series' Christmas-themed installment released in 1989.
Ty Dillon had the bathrobe and Ushanka hat combo, while Haley rocked the No. 00 Griswold Chicago Blackhawks hockey jersey.
Upon NASCAR's return, Dillon will drive the No. 10 Chevrolet Camaro for Kaulig Racing. The racing number was freed up after Stewart-Haas Racing left the season this season. Noah Gragson previously ran the number in the SHR Ford Mustang.
Kauling Racing will also field AJ Allmendinger in the No. 16 car. This means both drivers will make their return to the premier series full-time next year.
The 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season will commence at the Daytona International Speedway for the prestigious Daytona 500 race, on February 16.
Ty Dillon reacts to Cup Series return with Kaulig Racing
In a statement released last September, Ty Dillon expressed gratitude for an opportunity to run full-time in the Cup Series again. Kaulig Racing will field Dillon in the No. 10 Chevrolet after giving him a part-time schedule in the No. 16 this year.
Dillon shared:
"I am incredibly grateful for another opportunity to run full-time in the Cup Series, and to be able to do it with the men and women at Kaulig Racing means a lot to me personally [...] They gave me a chance this year to go out and prove myself in a handful of starts. The team and I were able to connect early on and we put together a few strong runs in the No. 16."
He added:
"I’m really looking forward to what 2025 brings with this team. We have a bright future ahead of us and we’re going to give it our all each and every race next season."
Dillon spent six full-time seasons in the NASCAR Cup Series between 2017 and 2023 for multiple teams. The driver had a part-time schedule with the now-discontinued Gaunt Brother Racing in 2021 where he drove the No. 96 Toyota.
His return to the premier series meant Kaulig Racing had to let go of Daniel Hemric, who scored four top-10 finishes this year. Hemric later announced he would drive for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing in the Truck Series next year.
