As per the latest developments, Tyler Reddick has touched upon his wretched run at Watkins Glen and pointed his finger at Daniel Suarez. The #45 driver was clipped by Suarez during Stage 2 of the Go Bowling at The Glen at Watkins Glen International Speedway and ended his race in 27th place.
The Go Bowling at The Glen was the second playoff race of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season and certainly was a race to forget for Reddick. The regular season championship holder failed to make amends as his Cup Series title run was met with another disaster.
Speaking about this in a post-race interview with Frontstretch, the 23XI driver said that the contact with Suarez at Turn 1 after the restart ruined his race. In the interview, he also termed his Watkins Glen outing "not good."
"We were decent I thought in Stage 1 and we got clipped by 99 and I don't know if we couldn't really find anything we can fix but we just never were same." [00:05]
When asked to elaborate further, Reddick added:
"I mean in Stage 1, I was pretty solid but I think the biggest thing is there was enough of us just stuck in a train together that like it was just really really hard to get out of line or anything. You couldn't really get clocked on anything. My biggest thing was I noticed what I could get to somebody by himself or by themselves or with a gap, I can make a move or I can pass, I can race them, stay close to them."
Chris Buescher claimed a surprising victory at Watkins Glen when he held off Shane van Gisbergen and Carson Hocevar in the NASCAR overtime. This was the RFK Racing driver's maiden win of the 2024 season.
Tyler Reddick hopeful ahead of the Bristol race
Tyler Reddick's Toyota Camry did not have the lightning-fast speed it showed during the regular season, as the #45 driver could only manage 16th place in the qualifying on Saturday.

In a nutshell, Reddick had a day to forget at Watkins Glen this weekend. However, he seemed hopeful ahead of the upcoming Bristol race.
When asked in the aforementioned interview how he felt going to Bristol for the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway on September 21, Reddick said:
"We were plus 30 or something. So super fine." [01:35]
After the second playoff race, Tyler Reddick is placed in sixth place and has a 30-point advantage in the playoff cutline. Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski, Martin Truex Jr., and Harrison Burton are the four drivers in the bubble.
