Several NASCAR drivers have their podcasts where they share their opinions on anything and everything related to the sport. Denny Hamlin has "Actions Detrimental," Dale Earnhardt Jr. has "The Dale Jr. Download," and Corey LaJoie has "Stacking Pennies."

Ahead of this year's postseason, NASCAR on FOX interviewed the playoff drivers (except for Hamlin, because he already has his own podcast, and Blaney, because he used to do a podcast called "Glass Case of Emotion") about what they would name their podcast if they were to start one.

Harrison Burton said, "Burning Rubber with Burton," Chase Briscoe said, "Risky Brisky's Business and Christopher Bell said, "The Bell's Tolls." However, Alex Bowman's answer was followed by an explanation behind the unusual nomenclature. In an interview uploaded by journalist Bob Pockrass on X (formerly known as Twitter), the 31-year-old said:

"Somebody had a podcast a couple years ago that I love the name of...I think it was called 'The Unprofessionals'. Think that's a great name...that's very fitting for me."

Alex Bowman drives the No. 48 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Hendrick Motorsports. He joined the Chevy team in 2017, replacing Dale Jr. in the No. 88 machine. He switched to the No. 48 after seven-time Cup Series champion and former HMS driver Jimmie Johnson announced his retirement.

Bowman is an eight-time winner in the NASCAR Cup Series. His most recent win came at the Chicago Street Circuit in July. Despite qualifying for the playoffs, the Tucson, Arizona native was disqualified from the October 13 race at Charlotte and therefore fell out of the playoff picture.

Former Cup Series champion lauds Alex Bowman's comeback performance at Las Vegas following unfortunate DQ

In an episode of the Happy Hour Podcast, former Stewart-Haas Racing driver and 2014 Cup Series champion Kevin Harvick spoke about how impressive Alex Bowman's recent top-5 performance at Las Vegas Motor Speedway was. Just a week prior, the officials disqualified Bowman's car for not making post-race inspections at the ROVAL.

Bowman's chase for the championship took a big hit. To make things worse, Hendrick Motorsports decided not to appeal against the DQ.

Bowman missed the playoffs last year. His sole win this year came snapping an 80-race winless streak. Furthermore, there have been talks about him losing his job at Hendrick Motorsports. Nevertheless, Bowman is not one to sit and sulk. He silenced his haters with his performance.

"When you think about it from Alex’s standpoint, what a year," Harvick said. "With all the talk about losing his job, getting thrown out of the playoffs after making the playoffs, and everything he’s had to mentally go through. The guy is obviously pretty mentally tough because he went to Vegas this week and ran well."

Harvick further noted:

"Showed up to perform and did what he was supposed to do from his standpoint. What a tough position to be in… to deal with everything he’s dealt with this year and still go out on the racetrack and perform,"

Alex Bowman will start his engine this coming weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Fans can watch him in action only on NBC Sports or listen to radio updates on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio from 2:30 PM ET onwards.
