Richard Childress Racing's #8 driver Kyle Busch is known to have a million-dollar garage, with a car collection that holds both financial and sentimental value. Busch recently put on a show for his fans, driving his legendary Chevrolet Camaro.
The $80M-worth (according to Celebrity Net Worth) Kyle Busch has had a season full of troubles thus far. He has not won in his last 40 starts in points races. He's been at the wrong end of the stick, suffering from multiple mechanical failures, a couple of DNFs, and has frequently been involved in on-track incidents, like the one at Indianapolis, which sent the race into overtime.
However, NASCAR has scheduled a two-week break from racing, as the Paris Olympics are upon us. This break will provide drivers with some well-earned rest, and a chance to recalibrate ahead of the rest of the season.
Kyle Busch, in partnership with Lucas Oil Products, took his legendary Chevrolet Camaro out for a spin so that he could clean the fuel injectors in his ride. Here is a look at him driving the Camaro in style:
The two-time Cup Series champion is currently in P18 in the drivers' standings with 440 regular season points. He has had six top-ten and four top-five finishes in 22 race starts. Although Busch looked like he could be a contender to win the Brickyard 400, his winless streak continued after an unfortunate on-track incident with Denny Hamlin.
With four regular-season races left in this year's campaign, Busch is currently 112 points behind Ross Chastain, who holds the last playoff spot. He will be aiming for a strong comeback following NASCAR's two-week break.
"Certainly heard some names" - Kyle Busch comments on possible changes to Richard Childress Racing Team
RCR driver Kyle Busch has enjoyed a celebrated career thus far, with two NASCAR Cup titles and 63 race wins to his name. Busch has been around for a while and has seen the sport change. However, the 2024 season with RCR has not been very successful for the former champion.
There has been speculation about changes coming to RCR as they power through an underwhelming season. In an interview with Frontstretch, Kyle Busch was asked whether he had heard any chatter regarding changes for the upcoming season. He responded:
"I've certainly heard some names and some rumblings, I don't know if any signatures have been put on paper or whatnot to get some of those people in. I know we lost one, meaning we did not get him," [03:02]
On being asked whether he would like to be a part of these conversations, or just focus on driving, Busch said:
"I mean it would be kind of nice to know, and they have been bringing me into the fold of some of the names and whatnot, that they're looking at. But honestly, besides the people that I've worked with before, I don't know anything about the people that I've never worked with before, so that's kind of hard to judge their character, their work ethic, their genius level, and all that."
