Cup Series driver and this year's fall Darlington winner Chase Briscoe shared a heartfelt video on social media yesterday. The driver of the #14 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford posted a video of his young son taking to iRacing, the racing simulation many drivers use to prepare for raceday.

Briscoe posted the video to his personal X account. His son, Brooks, who turns three on Wednesday, is seen driving on a virtual dirt track on his dad's racing simulator. The 29-year-old wrote:

"He’s not even 3 years old yet and already begging me to get on [iRacing]."

The young Briscoe can be seen wheeling the virtual car around the track at a steady rate and not crashing into the wall or any other cars. This impressed a few of Briscoe's followers, with one writing:

"And doing a fine job of driving it! Looks like the next generation of Briscoe racers is getting a great start!"
"He drives dirt way better than I do, kinda jealous," said another.

Many of the responses to Briscoe's video were positive, but some used it as an opportunity to take a jab at Cup Series drivers. A few took shots at Corey LaJoie, the now-driver of the #51 Rick Ware Racing Ford, with one writing:

"insane how he’s already better than Corey Lajoie at 2 years of age."

There were a few digs taken at Briscoe himself, referencing the incident between himself and two-time Cup Series champion Kyle Busch in Sunday's Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas. One commented:

"Hopefully you teach him not to race the leader that gave you respect at the southern 500 respect."
"Teach him to leave a lane for someone on his outside," said another user.

Kyle Busch crashed out of the lead in Sunday's race after near-contact with Chase Briscoe

As the laps wound down in Sunday's 267-lap event, Chase Briscoe found himself mired outside of the top-20 and on the verge of going a lap behind Kyle Busch, who was the race leader with under 35 laps to go. As Busch approached Briscoe as they worked off turn two with 32 to go, the latter attempted to keep the leader behind him, due to which Busch lost control of his car, slammed into the outside wall and skidded down the backstretch. There was no contact between the two, but it ultimately ended Busch's chances of winning regardless.

After the race, Busch, who finished 19th, expressed displeasure with Briscoe and believed he should've let the leaders race among themselves without any interruptions.

"I'm sure he[Chase Briscoe] was racing to stay on the lead lap and racing whoever was in front of him there. Granted, they got a race to run, but back during the whole day, you give you a lane, you know, and let the leaders race. And I just, I wasn't getting that. And so I tried to force my hand to get that and get to his outside. And when I did, just for some reason, whatever happened, it just gave all the air and all the wrong place and spun out," Busch said. (via motorsport.com)

Briscoe, a playoff driver, placed 24th in Sunday's event and enters Talladega 25 points below the cut-line to advance to the Round of 8. Kyle Busch, meanwhile, is a non-playoff driver for the first time since 2012 and currently sits 20th in the standings.
