Kyle Busch's son Brexton is excited to visit Watkins Glen International this weekend after a tough week of racing at Millbridge Speedway.
Brexton started racing when he was five and has won several championships. He won the Tuesday night Beginner Box championship at Millbridge last year and the Mountain Creek Speedway Beginner Box Stock title in 2022.
In a recent tweet, the 9-year-old Brexton wrote about his challenging week on the track and his plans to support his dad.
"Struggled this week at Millbridge, but at least I get this weekend off! Going to regroup, relax, and watch my dad at Watkins Glen!"
Brexton won Wednesday night's dirt race at Millbridge Speedway last month and secured three wins in a row at the same track in March this year.
Moreover, Brexton's career has been nothing short of impressive. He collected over 30 wins across various racing divisions last year. With nearly 90,000 followers on Instagram, he regularly shares updates about his racing on social media pages. Kyle Busch and wife Samantha also share updates about Brexton's races and wins on social media.
Busch celebrated his son's performance at Millbridge, where he qualified 3rd and finished 4th, in March with a tweet.
"I’ve lost a substantial amount of money" - Kyle Busch on not making it to the playoffs
Kyle Busch missed out on the NASCAR playoffs for the first time in 12 years and it has caused him to lose "a substantial amount of money."
Busch, a two-time Cup Series champion, had been in the playoffs every year since 2012. The Richard Childress Racing driver fought hard at races like Daytona and Darlington this season but was unable to qualify for the playoffs. None of the team's full-time drivers are in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs this year.
"I’ve lost a substantial amount of money, let’s say, in the last few weeks (because) of not making the playoffs, not getting wins, and things like that. That’s a big hit. But again, it is what it is. We just move on. We go through and try to play spoiler now, and try to go out and be a guy that’s on the outside looking in and take victories from these guys who want them to be able to move to the next round,” Busch said (via Racer.com).
Furthermore, the 39-year-old has yet to earn a race win this season. He finished in second place at Darlington Raceway and Daytona International Speedway.
Kyle Busch is currently focused on keeping his 20-year streak of winning at least one race each season.
