Biffle is a former NASCAR driver who won 19 races in the Cup Series. The Triple B 100 is a 100-lap dirt race he created 15 years ago. One of the events was a race against McFarland in a bid to raise funds for Hurricane Helene recovery efforts.

On X (formerly Twitter), the motorsports streaming platform FloRacing shared a video over a minute long that featured the race between Biffle and McFarland on the former's short dirt track.

During the race, Cleetus McFarland got off to a better start in the No. 4 Ford Crown Victoria. However, Greg Biffle took the lead in the closing laps in the No. 16 car to win the race.

The broadcast had a Venmo QR code on the bottom left of the screen for viewers who wished to contribute to the fundraising program.

“We’re still trying to figure that out exactly, but we’re basically going to give our efforts to Hurricane Helene recovery efforts, housing, supplies, and what not,” Biffle said via FloRacing. “Almost all, if not all, of the money is going to go to charity.”

While Biffle's relief efforts for Hurricane Helene victims are well documented, McFarland also extended a helping hand during the catastrophe. He flew a personal helicopter to help those in need.

The 54-year-old driver shared (via NASCAR):

“It started on a Saturday morning when I got a phone call for somebody in need of assistance [...] And what I thought was one family turned in to be, a pretty devastating event and just escalated one thing after another."

He added:

And I thought, you know, I’ve got the resources, and if I don’t go, who’s going to go? So that day, I drove to the airport. Power was out, so we used the tug to get the hanger door open, got my helicopter out, put fuel on and tried to go rescue that family.

The Myers Brothers Award honors individuals who make significant contributions to stock car racing. Biffle joins other past recipients, including Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Sr.

NASCAR also recognized Biffle's efforts during the Charlotte roval playoff race where the Washington native served as the honorary starter. He received a standing ovation from NASCAR officials and drivers during the driver's meeting.

Despite the overwhelming support, Biffle didn't want to take credit for it, saying other people also came together to help those in need.
