Irwindale Speedway promoter Tim Huddleston threw an F-bomb at the ARCA Menards Series West race winner Sean Hingorani. Shortly after the Venturini Motorsports driver jumped out of his car to celebrate his second consecutive race win, Huddleston lashed at the former.
The #15 Toyota driver swept the Fourth of July weekend at the Irwindale Speedway. After reigning supreme in the NAPA Auto Parts 150 on July 4, Hingorani braved two late race restarts and finished first in Saturday's 152-lap dash. However, Hingorani's restart came under the scanner for a probable jumpstart but no violation was found.
The race, however, was in Hingorani's teammate Isabella Robusto's favor. But with just 29 laps to go, her #55 Chevy's right front tire went flat, clearing the path for her teammate running behind in second. Sean then gunned for the lead and was dominant during the restarts as well.
After sealing his sixth West Series victory, Hingorani jumped onto the asphalt from atop his #15 Toyota and climbed the fence while the crowd cheered. But during his victory celebration, track promoter and announcer Tim Huddleston lashed out at the winner for being "disrespectful."
"They made the decision. Picking it up tonight. Climbing the fence. Hey, f*ck you buddy," Huddleston yelled, via a clip shared by Josef Srigley on X (formerly twitter).
“P2 tonight. What a gentleman. Class act. Ladies and Gentlemen, they’re (the 15 team) so disrespectful I’m not interviewing them. They don’t need it," he added.
The reason for the frustration isn't clear but it seems as though Sean Hingorani doing the victory burnouts before being officially declared the winner was the cause. Huddleston being Irwindale Speedway's promoter, the early celebration might not have sat well with him.
"It just came natural to me"- Sean Hingorani outlines his triumphant ARCA portrayal at the Irwindale Speedway
The Venturini Motorsports driver stood fourth fastest in the ARCA Series' qualifying while his teammate Isabella placed her #55 Chevy in third place. As the race progressed, Hingorani blazed past the pole sitter Tyler Reif and dominated the Irwindale Speedway.
During the opening 90 laps, Hingorani refrained from aggressive racing and largely trailed behind Trevor Huddleston in third. But the #15 Chevy driver capitalized on the room and took the bottom line to swerve past, taking second place. Shortly after that, Robusta's flat right tire left the field open for Hingorani and he battled through two restarts before marking his second consecutive win on the Irwindale Speedway.
Post his victorious run, Sean Hingorani talked up his restarts and praised his team's contribution toward enhancing his skill.
"My restarts have been good all season. These guys at Venturini really taught me how to restart these ARCA cars. We had to restart for wins last year and we got here into a position to do it this year. It just came natural to me and I couldn’t be more thankful for my guys," Hingorani said via ARCA Racing.
