Kyle Busch and Zach Yager, the tire carrier for Chris Buescher's #17 car, had a startling moment during the Brickyard 400 race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday. While lifting off from the pit lane, Busch hit Yager, who was on his duty.

Busch came for pits a few minutes earlier than Buescher, and after he was done, he set off for the pit road. That was when the latter was pitting while Yager was all busy with his job. As Busch was on his way out, he tagged Yager from behind, knocking him on the ground, and sped off.

Since it was entirely unintentional by the #8 driver, no action was taken. Yager also did not suffer any injury and got up to complete Buescher's stop. RFK Racing released a video of the incident on X with the caption:

"I get knocked down, but I get up again," signifying Zach Yager's action.

NASCAR was in Indianapolis on Sunday for the much-awaited Brickyard 400 race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. After an eventful 167 laps, Kyle Larson claimed the victory ahead of Tyler Reddick and Ryan Blaney.

However, it was yet another disappointing outing for Kyle Busch. The #8 driver finished the race in 25th place, ahead of Ryan Preece and behind Chase Briscoe. At the end of the race, he took only 12 points.

The RCR Driver's Indianapolis race weekend was full of underwhelming performances. Keeping aside his poor race finish, the #8 driver could only manage 34th place in qualifying.

Kyle Busch continued his wretched run in the 2024 season where he has failed to pick up a single win in 22 races. The RCR driver is yet to qualify for the playoffs and is at a distant place from qualification.

Amid this, Kevin Harvick's latest statement has not painted a good picture for Busch. The former NASCAR driver, who does not see any win in sight for the 39-year-old, said (via Yardbarker):

"When things go well, he gets caught in somebody else's mess. Nothing is going right for Kyle Busch, and most of the time recently, they haven't had the speed to do what they need, to make up for that."
"That's the difference between the #20 and the #11 and some of these other cars that are having issues—they have the speed, and that keeps the confidence level high. What a terrible position he's in. I don't see a win anywhere in sight," Harvick added.

Kyle Busch is currently in the eighth place in the Drivers' Championship under regular season standings. So far, he has managed two top 5s, six top 10s, one pole position, and five DNFs.
