With the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series done and dusted, Kyle Larson is focused on other racing series like the United States Auto Club (USAC) Racing Series. During a recent dirt race at Ventura Raceway, the Californian driver had a collision in the race with Corey Day.

Starting his career in the USAC midget race series, Larson has had a knack for dirt racing since his early days. After honing his racecraft on dirt tracks, the 32-year-old racer progressed to the K&N Pro Series and ARCA Menards series, before entering NASCAR. Since his debut in the Cup Series in 2013, Larson has won the championship title once, along with 29 races.

Despite being one of the top new-generation drivers, Larson constantly pushes himself with new challenges. Along with competing in the top three national series, he is often seen driving the Midget and Sprint car series like World of Outlaws.

In a recent Turkey Night USAC Midget feature race at Ventura Raceway, Larson had a run-in with rising dirt racing driver Day, bringing out caution halfway through the race. Day hit Larson in the rear, spinning him out.

A video of the racing incident was shared on X by FloRacing. Here's a look at the post, captioned:

"Contact between Corey Day and Kyle Larson brings out a caution nearly halfway through the @USACNation TurkeyNightGP!"

Day went on the win the race, becoming the the youngest Turkey Night Grand Prix winner.

"Hats off to Willie Kahne, Will Durst, and Bob Wirth for giving me a good motor that no one thought would work, and it does. This was my last race of the year, and I’ve never ended the year with a win in all my years racing," Day expressed his feelings in the victory lane.
"To do that feels really, really good. I look forward to this swing so much, and to just be able to come race and almost relax. It’s not as high pressure as the normal stuff I’m doing and I’m just really glad Willie and I could get a couple wins down here, and I’m glad to be one spot better here this year," he added.

NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson on winning Merced Midget Madness for first time

NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson won the 2024 Merced Midget Madness in the USAC National Midget Series at Merced Speedway. The Hendrick Motorsports driver expressed his feelings in a post-race interview after clinching his first track victory in the class.

"We’ve been really good whenever we’ve ran the midget at all these California tracks except for Merced. I feel like we’ve been average at best at Merced, and then we had a couple races where we were really bad," Kyle Larson said via USAC Racing.
"I was a bit nervous going into that feature just because the sprint cars go through the holes way easier than the midgets. In a midget, just because you’re sideways, you’re bouncing a lot. I was nervous with the track slickening up and I felt like we were going to have to run through the holes more, which we did. But my car could handle it there, which was nice," he added.

Apart from his Midget win, Kyle Larson also has three Sprint Car victories at Merced Speedway.
