Hendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott won the Bank of America Roval 400 at Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course in 2019. However, the win didn't come easy for him, and moments after winning the race, the Dawsonville native revisited the site of the mistake and celebrated his victory there.

Elliott wasn't near the top ten drivers in the qualifying lap of the race and started the race from 19th position. Despite a slow start, he started recovering and finished stage 1 in ninth place. He shifted gears in stage 2 of the race and crossed the finish line first.

The #9 Chevy driver Chase Elliott was leading the race in the final stage of the race. But suddenly, in the 65th lap, he missed the entrance to Turn 1 and crashed straight into the wall. Fortunately, his car sustained minimal damage and remained fast.

The Hendrick Motorsports driver duct-taped his hood and was back on the track to fight for the lead. Elliott went on to make a remarkable comeback and reclaimed the lead, crossing the finish line in first place. He then revisited Turn 1 and did a celebratory burnout at the same place of his crash.

NASCAR's official X account shared the throwback clip and wrote:

"Chase Elliott picked the perfect spot to do his burnout after crashing and winning at the ROVAL in 2019."

Chase Elliott believes the "new" Charlotte Road Course "is going to change the entire flow"

Hendrick Motorsports #9 Chevy Camaro ZL1 driver is currently the winningest driver at the Charlotte Road Course. However, the 2.28-mile circuit got repaved on turns 6 and 7, and the round of 12 will be the first race since the new pavement.

Speedway Motorsports extended the infield of the track, and now it leads straight to the hairpin corner. Additionally, the shallow right curve on the front stretch also got reshaped, making it tough to check the braking skills of the drivers.

The track is completely new for the drivers, and only a 20-minute practice session could be insufficient for the round of 12 contenders. Despite scoring the most wins at the Charlotte Road Course, Elliot discussed his cautious approach on the repaved track. In a press conference on October 5, the 2020 Cup Series champion was asked about his thoughts on the new changes to the track.

"To me, I kind of look at it as a new race track, truthfully, and that section of the track is going to change the entire flow of a lap there. So, I've been kind of approaching it as a new track in my prep," Chase Elliott said (via Cup Scene on YouTube at 5:28).
