Natalie Decker flaunted her baby bump recently while posing for the camera. A Wisconsin-based NASCAR driver, Decker is expecting her first child with her husband and fellow racer Derek Lemke in February.
The couple announced their pregnancy back in August through a post on X (formerly known as Twitter). This year marked her last Christmas before becoming a mother.
“The best present under the tree!! Baby boy we are so excited to meet you soon 🫶🏼 Merry Christmas," Decker wrote.
Decker drives the No. 36 and the No. 92 cars for DGM Racing on a part-time basis. A former member of the 2015 Drive for Diversity program, Decker made the headlines when she finished 5th at Daytona in 2020.
She thus became the highest-finishing female driver in the history of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. The following year, she won the Trans-Am Series SGT Class ProAm Challenge Championship. Decker was named the ARCA Midwest Tour Rookie of the Year in 20w3.
The 27-year-old is currently on a hiatus from racing due to her pregnancy and she often spends her days watching her husband race. Back in October, she was seen cheering for Lemke during the Falloween Race at Wisconsin Dells Raceway Park.
Natalie Decker makes clear statement about NASCAR return
When Natalie Decker and Derek Lemke announced their pregnancy by posing in mom and dad shirts, a fan made a comment suggesting that the former had found happiness in retirement. Decker responded to the comment by stating that she would return to racing in 2025.
“I don’t owe anybody an answer for anything, but I want to make one thing clear once a race car driver always a race car driver. I’ll be back in the car in 2025.”
Decker hails from a family of racers. Her father Chuck Decker won the 1987 World Championship Derby race, while her uncle, Allen Decker, is a skilled snowmobile racer. Decker's cousins Claire and Paige have previously competed in NASCAR as well.
“My dad and his three brothers raced everything and anything. But they are most famous for snowmobile racing," Natalie Decker said (via nataliedeckerinc.com). "I grew a love for motorsports at a young age and I knew that this was a path I wanted to take since I was a young girl.”
Decker has run 11 races over four years in the Xfinity Series, her last race being the 2024 BetMGM 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May. She drove the #92 to a P29 finish, picking 8 points on the way.
Decker’s delivery is due in February, which could mean that she will not be running the season-opening event at Daytona. She is yet to announced her first race of 2025.
