Hendrick Motorsports driver Kyle Larson is on a roll this season, leading the NASCAR playoff standings. The Stock Car Association recently posted Larson's stats, comparing them to 2021, when he won the Cup Series championship. However, fans did not take this lightly and criticized them for favoring Larson for the win.

The post displayed a list of races won by the #5 Chevy Camaro ZL1 driver in 2021 that matched his 2024 season races. Larson won the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in both 2021 and 2024. The next was the number 1 seed column, and the Hendrick Motorsports driver checked both boxes.

Kyle Larson won the round of 16 elimination race at Bristol in 2024 and in 2021, followed by the round of 12 elimination race at Charlotte Roval in both years. He only needs to check two more boxes to repeat the history. He needs to win the first two races of the round of eight elimination and the championship race at Phoenix.

NASCAR captioned the post:

"Kyle Larson's DEJA VU"

Despite having such a phenomenal season in 2024, fans criticized NASCAR for promoting Larson and accused the association of siding with him.

A fan expressed his anger and commented:

"We get it, he’s your golden boy."

Another compared NASCAR's X account's admin to a child and said:

"I swear a 5 year old runs this account"

One motorsports enthusiast wrote:

"We all know the NASCAR bosses (tools) will do anything to help the Golden Boy win!"

One more fan highlighted that there are other drivers than Larson also and commented:

"Again, you guys know other drivers compete too right?"

A motorsports fan made an ironic comment comparing NASCAR to WWE and wrote:

"If the sport is ran with any form of ethics and not WWE shit, Larson should easily make the final 4 and be the champion"

Cliff Daniels on Kyle Larson's biggest competition in the round of eight

After his sixth win, Kyle Larson secured his spot in the round of eight, and he has proved his caliber in the upcoming three races at Las Vegas, Homestead, and Martinsville. Later, his crew chief Cliff Daniels was questioned about his biggest competition in the next races.

Drivers like Denny Hamlin, defending champion Ryan Blaney, Joey Logano, and teammate Chase Elliott are in the round of eight to give Larson a tough run for his money. However, the #5 crew chief believes that the biggest competition Larson will face is himself and said:

"I think our No. 1 competitor is ourselves, and I think if we do the things that we need to do, our team can execute. Kyle has been done an amazing job, the pit crew, everybody in the shop. Yes, the competition is going to be there. I think our mission is going to be probably to be as tunnel-visioned as humanly possible to stay on our path and execute the things that we need to."

It'll be intriguing to see Kyle Larson in the upcoming races. He has quite an experience on these tracks and secured a win at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the early season.
