Roger Penske, Dallas Cowboys, and REV Entertainment (official events partner of the Texas Rangers) will create a joint venture to bring the NTT INDYCAR Series down to Texas for the Grand Prix of Arlington. The race is set to be first hosted in the 2026 season.
Texas has been no stranger to INDYCAR having raced at Fort Worth's 1.5-mile Texas Motor Speedway since 1997. However, the 2026 season will see a new opportunity emerging as INDYCAR will head down to the streets of Arlington. The street race will be 2.73 miles in length and will be around the AT&T Stadium, Dallas Cowboy's home. Roger Penske, owner of Team Penske and INDYCAR (via Penske Entertainment Corp), called the event "racing's next global spectacle."
"Through a truly remarkable and innovative partnership, we’re going to build racing’s next global spectacle. Everyone involved is fully committed to delivering an incredible and unique event weekend for the city of Arlington, anchored by the stars of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. We’re grateful to the Cowboys, Rangers and REV Entertainment for entering into this partnership with us, and, of course, to Arlington’s leadership team for their excitement and ongoing support."
Roger Penske is known for his investments in racing. Owning Team Penske (which races in INDYCAR, NASCAR, IMSA Sportscar Championship, and the World Endurance Championship), the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and INDYCAR has made him a racing pioneer.
Exploring the track possibilities of Roger Penske's established Grand Prix of Arlington
The track will be around the AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Field. Although the complete layout has not been revealed, there were social media posts claiming to be unconfirmed layouts of the track. It featured long straights with a mix of sharp corners. A similar layout was observed at the Nashville Street Circuit.
This is set to be a first-of-its-kind joint venture between the three biggest names in the NFL and the racing industry. In a statement, the Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones mentioned that he was thrilled to work with Roger Penske and the Texas Rangers.
"We are thrilled to join forces with the Texas Rangers, Penske Entertainment, and the city of Arlington to bring Grand Prix racing to the streets of the Arlington Entertainment District. The collaboration between our organizations will make the INDYCAR Grand Prix of Arlington special, providing a unique NTT INDYCAR SERIES race experience for fans attending, while also creating a showcase with our friends at FOX and those watching around the world. An event of this magnitude is another great reflection of what we imagined over 15 years ago that AT&T Stadium could be a part of."
The complete track layout is expected to be revealed at a ceremony later today at Texas Live!
